Sainburys are reducing the dd payment and crediting the account with the Govt payment.

There should be 4 transactions. Gas use, electric use, direct debit (less £66/67) and HM government payment of £66/67.

The only organisation which can answer the OP is Sainsburys as the credit (yet deducted from the balance) today appears to be an anomaly.

Has the £66/67 been sent back to your bank account?
    No ..................................
  • The 2 + signs are misleading. One should be a - sign.

You should however have received £66/67 back into your bank account. EDF advised me that it takes them 3 to 5 working days for the refund to appear in my bank account. I am guessing therefore that maybe you should allow a similar time period from 17 October before you chase it up with Sainsburys.

Sainsbury's have always said that they will not refund the £66/67 to your bank account, but will reduce the value of your DD instead...

Which is precisely what has happened with me.  Paid £44 (ish), credited with £110 (ish).

I will definitely keep an eye on my account now! It's really weird how they do "+£67" and then subtract £67 !

I thought the first two (of the 6 monthly payments) were £66 and the final four were £67?

This is our EON statement, they have reduced DD by £66, which is gutting given 123 acc & 4% energy cashback..

So from the 2 above I would expect it's either a error in their system, or they have refunded £67 back to bank account. As someone else said give it till the end of the week to turn up.

This makes absolute sense as the combined value of the Government rebate plus the reduced direct debit equates to the previous monthly direct debit in the sum of £132.69.

This is not the case with the OP's Sainsburys statement where the two entries of £66/£67 have a totally neutral effect on the customer balance which remains at £253.91 (subject to the £1 difference for some reason) after both entries before and after.
