It's ok. Just a pita to re authenticate if change phone but if I managed it I'm sure most can.housebuyer143 said:How is the authenticator app? Can anyone who is a customer let me know. Seems it's got really bad reviews.1 -

It's quite simple but a little laborious really. You have to input a pin code to open it , then scan a qr code thing on the webpage , followed by then inputting the code that is generated into the webpage. Nothing hard about it

Yes, this. Given the choice, I would use another bank, but if they have the best rate then I would choose Cynergy even it is a pain to login. There are just too many steps and the authenticator doesn't always scan the QR code first time.Silverbullet036 said:housebuyer143 said:How is the authenticator app? You can use biometric login for the app. This makes is slightly less cumbersome to use.Silverbullet036 said:housebuyer143 said:How is the authenticator app? Can anyone who is a customer let me know. Seems it's got really bad reviews.

The worst login process of just about any bank in the UK.

I'm the worst person in the world for dealing with technology e.g.... I don't have a smart phone, don't know what a SIM or an App is but have absolutely no problems of any kind dealing with/logging on to my Cynergy account. I'm sure if I can do it anyone can.1

I don't have a problem with it, takes me about 10 seconds. And I like the fact that they process payments on the same day, unlike others where it's next working day; also if you're a new customer it's easier to open than Santander (id verified electronically, no documents required).0

I don't particularly like the login process either but it's hardly rocket science. Takes less than 30 secs to login once you're used to it. Having said that, would much prefer an app rather than having to go through their website, hopefully they'll make one in the future.0

Ironically, I think it was reports a while ago about so many people having to post off various important documents to Cynergy in order to prove their ID that has put me off them. Conversely, I managed to open a Santander account last month without needing to post anything off at all. It's funny how these things workExpotter said:if you're a new customer it's easier to open than Santander (id verified electronically, no documents required).

Customers need to sophisticate and shouldn't let banks get away with clumsy banking.
There is no app. You often need 2 devices to-hand, doubling the burden. The authenticator can at times take an age to work. Online banking in a phone browser is (ime) unreliable. The login process is slow and painful.
We live today in a modern world of bank from anywhere (BFA). Nobody should have to carry 2 devices and an app and a camera authenticator just to access their own cash. It is time-consuming, awkward and clumsy.
