Cynergy Bank, Yay or Nay?

Anyone use them. Is my money safe there? Interested in the 2.75% instant access as Santander are making me jump through many hoops.

Cynergy have the same FSCS protection as Santander, so are as safe as them.

I use them. Been fine for me.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Only thing I don't like is having to use their authenticator which is sometimes fiddly to use.  Have used them for year.
  • No problems for me either , i've got easy access and fixed accounts. Transfers , deposits and withdrawals all work just as you would expect
  • Till recently you had to open a new account each time to benefit from every time they increased the interest rate.
Thankfully they have stopped that now and you get the new improved rate automatically.
So yes I would say go with them if that's what you want.

I used them for a while, but found their log-in process a hassle. Now that Virgin Money offer a higher rate of interest there seems little point in bothering with them.

Do Virgin Money really currently offer a higher rate of interest on their easy access saver? I don’t think so unless they’ve suddenly announced an interest rate rise that is yet to show on their website! Virgin Money are currently paying 2.02% AER (2.00% monthly).

Is there not an app that I can use to look at my money? 😂 I do like a good app.
  • How is the authenticator app? Can anyone who is a customer let me know. Seems it's got really bad reviews.

Yay, no problems at all.  Phoned them once when I got a new mobile and had to reset the authenticator and great customer service.
