eDreams

Hi

Has anyone had any positive outcome from taking eDreams to the ombudsman?

My flight was cancelled 6 months ago and they keep telling me I have to wait for the flight company to refund the money, but in the meantime they keep extending the date that it was requested, therefore it looks like I haven't been waiting for 6 months, when I have. It's also impossible to talk to someone and they don't respond to complaints. Unbelievably shocking company.

Thanks

Seems unlikely, as there isn't an ombudsman covering travel companies, not even for those that are UK-based (unlike eDreams), but you could perhaps try the EU online dispute resolution service referenced in their Ts & Cs?

Your comments about E dreams can be found on every forum and review site in Europe. The first thing to do is to contact the airline and see whether an application for a refund has even been made and if it has when it was repaid to the agency. If it hasn't, then they might be telling the truth but that seems unlikely at this stage. It is frankly madness to book with a non-UK agency particularly when we are no longer part of the EU and you cannot use the EU small claims procedure anymore.

If they have received the refund then maybe going to the press, the Daily Mail is a favourite to run holiday horror stories and getting them some bad publicity might help loosen their pockets but legal action overseas will be expensive
  • To help others I used better business bureau service in the US. eDreams have a Florida office and business bureau sent my complaint to them free of charge. I got my money back in 2 weeks. Fantastic service

That seems to be an organisation assisting US-based consumers (plus those in Canada and Mexico) - do you live there or are you saying that you're UK-resident but still used them?
