Snozzle said:I'm wondering when people are using their stamps...... I've just been to the post office to send a letter 1st class signed for putting a 1st class large stamp on it and having money to pay the difference so the post office at least makes a little from me. Only for the post person to say that if I want to send anything either Tracked or Signed for, the only way is by buying the postage online or prepay for it at the post office and they print a label (paying the full amount). No stamps can now be used. I was advised to go home and remove the 1st class large stamp and put on a simple 1st class stamp and get a proof of posting. They were also saying that I can't send parcels anymore by putting on some of the large 1st class stamps and paying the difference for the same reason that they can no longer enter a prepaid amount for the stamps. Has anyone else come across this?Looks like I can only use the 1st class stamps to send letters and large letters.Beginning to think the stamps we are being issued are soon going to be worthless as everything is being moved online (unless we can eventually cash them in and create a credit balance on a post office online account??2

Whenever I’ve sent a parcel or sent anything special delivery, I’ve always used the stamps. I just put extra stamps on so it’s over rather than under.
Any change telling you that you can’t do so hasn’t arrived at my local post office yet.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Interesting. prior to yesterday I was using them for special delivery and signed for but it got stopped yesterday as the post person said they had changed to be like tracking and he can't put in a pre paid amount in any more...... Or is he just saying that to me so that I pay him the full amount? Thanks for replying.0

It was confirmed as still being ok last July despite a post office worker trying to claim otherwise.

Thanks for that Elsien. Unless I want to drive 12 miles to try another post office I think I'm stuck. I don't want to fall out with the local post office as it's local and convenient - and I guess I have no way of learning how their system operates to allow the special delivery to be accepted as was the case with Mayflower yesterday. Frustrating.0

Has anyone used the Royal Mail lockers to send Spectos parcels? The labels on the boxes only have qr codes not barcodes so wasn’t sure if it would work.0

You will have received some important
information a few weeks ago regarding the new
Parcel Lockers and the Collect+ services that
Royal Mail are now offering. As these services
are not currently set up to accept stamped mail,
please do not post any of your test items at these
locations. Not sure this is up to date but it is all I remember.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0 -
