We’ve misplaced our wireless room thermostat! How do we turn the heating on?

Well this is rather embarrassing….
We have put our thermostat in a very - very- safe place. Nobody has seen it since summer, we’ve emptied every drawer but it remains stubbornly lost. And now we are a little stuck as we can’t turn our heating on.
I was thinking about upgrading to a smart system, but not ready just yet. It’s starting to turn a little nippy so need to find a work around until the darn thing turns up in a random unexpected place.
Presumably we need to stop the boiler ‘talking’ to the thermostat, so we can simply turn the heating on at the boiler. But how?
Is this likely to be a simple case of pressing some buttons on the boiler/flashy light thing next to it? Not a lot was happening when I tried. Or will we need to call an engineer?
Baxi combi boiler and (possibly) this thermostat but I can’t be sure, it just looks the same.

On the unit connected to the boiler (Says Danfoss RX1) there should be three buttons marked CH1, Ch2, Ch3. Press the Ch2 (middle) button, which is an emergency "On" button.1

That made my morning

There are only two buttons - Prog and CH1. Neither are doing anything :-(
The radiator light on the boiler did briefly flick on once, but nothing happened.
Managed to clear out the cupboard and get a picture this morning.

Edit: I have now found instructions, but I can only see it talking about making the receiver and thermostat to link up. Not the reverse.

I have held all buttons in various combinations for 3 seconds and have reset the boiler. Nada.
Googling seems to bring up articles about a thermostat having lost connection. Not being lost itself

When you press CH1 ONCE, does the light above it come on? If 'yes', then you've done it. If the boiler doesn't then come on, there's summat more amiss. Give it a minute to respond.

Nope. A light briefly last night but no boiler action :-( Dang it!0

Does the position of this little switch on the timer make a difference? It is on the boiler itself. I’ve tried it at the clock symbol, middle and top, but still nothing.

But if we just want to turn it on for an hour ad-hoc, should they all be out and the switch away from the clock symbol?frugalmacdugal said:Hi,you should be able to push in the outer pins to various on times.0
