£66 Energy Payment - OVO Energy not crediting me
I pay OVO Energy by Direct Debit each month and I have accumulated a credit balance over the summer. I have noticed a refund of £66 from OVO Energy in my bank account this month. On closer inspection of my OVO account, my direct debit has been taken and then I have had a £66 refund designated as Government Energy Payment. This £66 has been taken from my credit balance! Basically, OVO have given me £66 of my own money back. Has anyone else noticed similar with OVO Energy? If this continues, I will lose £400 from my credit balance between now and March under the guise of a government energy payment. Am I missing something? Is my maths wrong? I have contacted OVO and am now awaiting feedback.

If you pay by Direct Debit
You’ll receive your discount straight into your bank account as a refund 3-5 days after your Direct Debit has cleared.

I think that's basically what the op is saying.
Which means they have been refunded £66 of their own credit balance.
Doesn't it need to involve two transactions. One credit into the account from HM Government. And one out of the account to the op.
Net impact is their balance remains the same and they have £66 in their bank account.0 -
Completely wrong. If your dd is say £166, you have paid this from your bank account, but you have also had £66 credited, so your bank balance is only down by £100.
As the £66 has been paid to you do with it what you like. If you want your credit balance increasing pay the £66 to your OVO account. If you don't want a debt save the £66 and after 6 months your 'lost' £400 will be in your savings account and you can pay it to OVO.
My £66 was a credit to the energy account and the DD was reduced by £66. The £66 reduction in the DD I moved into my savings account.1 -

What you should be seeing is the following:
1)Start of month, credit to your ovo online account of £66 from the government.
2)Normal date, payment of your normal direct debit from your bank to ovo online account.
3)Couple of days later refund of £66 deducted from your ovo online account and credited to your bank account.0 -

There is no mention of the energy account being credit with £66 in the first place.
Which surely makes this a refund of the ops own money, albeit badged differently.2 -
I'm with Ovo as well. If I look at the top of my current billing page it says :Refunds 6 Oct £66.00 outThen, right at the very bottom it says :Energy Bill Support Scheme -£66.00Has the OP maybe not seen the -£66 entry at the bottom of the page?
