I'm over £800 in credit, but when I checked my account I can reduce my payment by only 10%.  I haven't done it yet because I'm still waiting for them to reduce my v19 tariff to the EPG!
When I was with EDF,  they used to give me a refund every summer.

Without knowing your annual consumption in kWh/year, no one can give you any specific advice.

Looking back 18 months ago, the Ofgem average annual consumer bill was £1138: today it is £2500. Most people would not have complained about going into the Winter period 21/22 with a £300 credit balance so why are people unhappy now? We only pay for the energy that we use at the agreed tariff price.

If the supplier was to refund your £800 in full, then it would result in a large increase in your monthly DD payments. That said, given that we are at the start of Winter, I cannot see any supplier agreeing to repay the full credit balance as they are under remit from Ofgem not to allow consumers to get into debt.
