What’s your annual usage (in kWh). I’d expect a gas account to have a fairly large credit at this time of year. Also remember last winter was very mild so expect your usage to increase this winter. If you cancel your DD then your prices will increase.

well first off they havent replied....

second ive never owed them anything

thirdly they put mu DDM up £3 to £90 when im obviously using less than ever

everyone with any sense is monitoring useage, I know we are

    using this :-
To convert metric gas meter readings to kWh:
Subtract the new meter reading from the previous reading to work out the volume of gas used. Multiply by the volume correction factor (1.02264). Multiply by calorific value (40.0). Divide by kWh conversion factor (3.6).

3 METER units i get to 34 "gas vol" units x 10.24p? £3.48 gas used in 7 days (with heating used)

    7 days SC = £2

Inc 5% VAT makes £5.58 in 7 days...

My DDM is UP now from £87 to £90...£20.77 per week...

    AND ive £220 credit?

Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...

they are GUESSING.... because ive only been with them with accurate readings since Feb

    off my last statement

    3.0 × 2.83 × 1.02264 × 39.9† ÷ 3.6 = 96.2 = £6.67 used

Seven days - or even seven summer months - isn't a particularly useful period. Winter is when you're likely to use most gas.
FWIW we've used 105 meter units (1180kWh) since April 1st but expect to use 6-7x that much in a full year.

What were your meter readings a year ago, and what do they read now?
If you don't have the data, there will be an "estimated annual consumption" value on your most recent bill.

I have just been billed for my gas and am £305 in credit.  By my estimates I will be £100 in debit at January and remain in debit, reaching a peak debit in March, until June then coming back and staying in credit again until January.  Being in credit now is the right place to be unless you can afford a winter bill which in my case could be close to £300 for a cold winter month.

no way of knowing as Pure Planet took all our readings to bottom when thay sank

eons estimate is just guesswork, im working on actual figures

we are able to pay monthly on demand, cannot justify loaning EON money at this rate

Surely you have a record of readings and copies of bills ?
Personally if you give me a month going back to 2002 I could give you a meter read for at least that quarter.

Do you have a bill from two years ago, then? Or three years?

E.ON should have access to the industry database with readings for your property. Their estimate shouldn't be that far out. (This doesn't always work out, but it usually does.)

I'm over £800 in credit, but when I checked my account I can reduce my payment by only 10%.  I haven't done it yet because I'm still waiting for them to reduce my v19 tariff to the EPG!
When I was with EDF,  they used to give me a refund every summer.
