If they supply your electricity and you are on “budget direct debit” (monthly) then they will refund to your bank.
its up to each supplier how they do it.1 -
That's what has happened for my October payment to Eon.next (£67 off what the payment would have been).Reed0

Oh ok so they'll pay it into my bank?
Thanks for prompt reply.1 -
Yes. If your monthly DD is greater than £67, you should be making a discounted payment for the next 6 months. The full amount of your payment plus the discount will be credited to your energy account.
Before you spend it bear in mind that most suppliers have yet to recalculate the increased annual cost of your energy under the EPG scheme. For the Ofgem average consumer, the annual energy cost will be double what it was last Winter.1 -

Octopus appear to be working it differently than crediting £66 into someones account. My usual direct debit is £100 a month , so Octopus have taken the £67 actually , not £66 and simply lowered my direct debit to £33 a month .It amounts to the same thing as crediting an account £67 into the bank.
I can see that this is only based on the lower rates and in time they will apply the higher rates and factor that in by an approx. 27% rise at some time in the near future .
Personally I have raised my direct debits already by approx. that amount to £65 a month0 -
I pay EDF by 'budget Direct Debit monthly' which should mean they pay it into my bank account.
I Logged onto my energy account yesterday, to submit meter reading, and noticed they had credited it to my energy account and not paid it into my bank account - so worth a check to see if this has happened.0 -
I just checked my EDF app and they have also credited my account even though my DD is more than £66. I've been waiting for it to go in my bank account as they advised. I wish they'd stick to the script. The EDF app however has still yet to update my credit balance to reflect the £66 payment.robyn_ said:I pay EDF by 'budget Direct Debit monthly' which should mean they pay it into my bank account.

EDF will credit it to your energy account and once the DD has cleared into the account they will debit your energy account by the £66 and transfer it to your bank. Precisely what they said they were going to do.Swipe said:
