hi all ive just checked my sp acc and the gov £66 has been credited to my energy acc, which is what i want
i hope they are not going to send it to my bank acc, will that be automatically sent or will it be held in my energy acc
i know exact usage and DD is se t for my fix till feb24
i want to keep this extra 400 to cover me when fix is finished for at least a few months into the winter of 24

i have not had mine and i am exactly on same tariff as you. They also wanna up my DD to 274pm from 247pm I have submitted reads today and am 50 in credit. I have worked out my DD should be 240pm only I am quite confused unable to get an answer on their webchat merry go round as not an option for my query wheres my £66?? I have upped DD to 250 and sent a query at CONTACTUS@SCOTTISHPOWER.COM but they say i have to wait 5 working days for reply21k savings no debt1

Mines showing in my account, but it's also showing a "refund processing" of £66, so I am assuming it will come out of my energy credit and into my bank shortly.1

i`m going to send it back for the reason to cover 20240

i have found this on electric account below my payments
Your credits & debits
Energy Bills Support Scheme
£66.00
It would appear they have applied it to my account and that is why i am 50 in credit But as the bill is still showing as pending I cannot confirm this.
Still think they are over estimating future usage with DD 274pm plus 66

sure am But its very easy to get confused . i guess i did not up my DD by enough in the summer So even though i use 240pm the 66 will be sucked up by my heavier winter usage. it worrying that once i come off fix mar24 payment will be 290. But happy I am saving 50pm til then for paying an extra amount in feb 22 and mar 22 only21k savings no debt1

@molerat I cant see on link where they will say they will send it to bank account Only says they will apply to electric account
How the EBSS works
• Energy suppliers will apply the discount to each household they supply electricity to in monthly instalments over a period of six months starting from October 2022.
• If we supply your electricity on the 1st of each month, we’ll apply the discount of £66 in October and November and £67 from December to March 2023.
• This discount is only applied to electricity accounts and will be provided by whoever supplies your electricity.
•There’s no need to contact us - you don’t need to apply or sign up to receive the discount and you don’t have to pay it back.

SP has passed the first EBSS payment to my energy account. This seems to contradict the information they have published for customers (https://www.scottishpower.co.uk/ebss ):I've always paid by monthly DD on the first of the month. October's DD payment (still at the higher pre EPG rates (but that's a whole other story in itself!) taken by SP is greater than the £66 EBSS seemingly credited to the energy account not my bank account. However according to SP's info above the money should have been credited to my bank account. There is no pending payment or other balance difference showing on my bank account. This is annoying as I'll have to try to claw the EBSS back as a refund when SP does its annual review at the end of January 2023. I've had lots of issues with the refund process in the past so not too amused with this situation.---
