Gateshead Tesco Extra 6810 Parking Charge Notice.

Hi folks,

The registered keeper received a Parking Charge Notice from APCOA today.

The driver  of the vehicle at the time is adamant that they checked the parking machine, at the entrance to Tesco Gateshead Extra 6810, and the machine told them that they did not need to pay. It also showed them a picture of the vehicle entering the site.

The quality of the pictures are awful and the RK really struggled to see the times involved.

The driver used the Tesco store but, unfortunately, paid cash.

The RK eventually found that the times concerned are 16-15 to 17-45.

Is there any comeback for this or should the RK just get the driver to pay it before it goes up?

The date of the so called infringement is 21st September 2022. 

The PCN was received today 6th October 2022.

Any help would be appreciated

The keeper wins easily by following the NEWBIES thread.  Such an easy one!

No idea why anyone thinks of paying.

You could even just copy an APCOA POFA appeal (search the forum).  Job done!

Use the blue text initial appeal from the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, then add this:

As your Parking Charge Notice does not comply with the requirements of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4), you are, in law, unable to hold the registered keeper of the vehicle liable for the parking charge; I suggest therefore that you contact the driver. As there is no legal requirement placed on the registered keeper to identify the driver, I will not be doing so.'.

Just a bit of info.

Contacted Tesco.

They just kept repeating the ''contact APCOA''.

They said it was nothing to do with them.

And I've just went through my bank statements.

Since January this year I have spent just under £1500 on diesel with Tesco....

I think I need to contact their head orifice..

Do complain to the CEO of Tesco, but don't miss the appeal deadline.
Don't spend too much time or effort on this either. APCOA NTKs can never hold the keeper liable, so they are easy to beat as long as you follow the advice on this forum.
