Economy 7 smart meter advice

Hello MSE
Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.
We have an EDF Standard (Variable) E7 account. The E7 (Economy 7) appears on the bill but
does not appear on the Smart Meter IHD (In-House Display) in only displays the standard electricity
usage based on the tariff £0.4/KWh for the E7 for the period Midnight to 7 am.
Can IHDs be programmed to display E7 pricing during the E7 period?
The EDF Energy hub web pages doesn't display the breakdown of tariff pricing on their graphs.
How do I get round this? We won't be happy until we can clearly see that running (E7) out of hours electricity
for washing machines, dishwashers & tumble driers etc. is not going to adversely affect us.0 -

I'm with edf on e7 and my IHD (most days but not always) shows a countdown an hour before the on and off peaks starts with a "tariff will change" messageJohnP56 said:Hello MSE

Hi - my EDF IHD only uses the day rate to display costs and doesn't distinguish between day and night rates at all. That's just a limitation of the technology that is deployed and there's not much you can do about it. Running appliances out of hours won't adversely effect you - if you want to convince yourself of this you can look at the meter out of hours and you'll see that it's clocking up the night rate. How exactly you do this depends on your meter - if you post a photo of it someone should be able to give you instructions. Not ideal, but that's the way it is.
