But HL charge 0.45% for the privilege of holding the funds, directly with Vanguard it's only 0.15% so costs three times as much sticking with HL.Sg28 said:
Oh I didnt know that. I do actually have a vanguard ftse tracker through HL but didnt know I could get the lifestrategy funds too. In that case I might just look at selling existing funds and buying that. Or at least switch my regular saver to it for now.VinceAshbySmith said:
Good to hear that there are other people in my boat, I assumed there would be! Interestingly, whilst doing my research, you can invest in vanguard life strategy funds with HL with the same OCF charges as investing directly with vanguard. So I was thinking of gradually moving my funds and switching to vanguard still using HL over the next few months/yearsSg28 said:Ill be interested to see some responses to this. I moved most of my funds into index trackers earlier this year. But looking at long term performance im not sure its the right strategy. Ive also been considering moving to vanguard lifestrategy.
Coincidenctly im the same age and similar circumstances to you.
I currently have my s&s ISA with HL. So I assume it would be a transfer over to the vanguard platform?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1 -
Is that the case even with the LISA ? I'm sure when I took out Lisa with HL they were competitivejimjames said:

HL have been 0.45% for funds since about 2014 across account types (there is a lower 0.25% tiered rate above £250,000) but the savings do depend on the sums involvedFor a £1,000 lump sum you save about £3 per year (£4.50 - £1.50), hardly worth it and HL have a much wider range of fundsFor a £100,000 lump sum you save about £300 per year, which would make it worth moving (for me at least)Worth noting that Vanguard don't provide LISAs
