Plenty of autumn left. Could be the last day of autumn.

Have you asked your MP about it? He will probably know before anybody else.

As months go, Autumn ends on 30th November, so they have plenty of time yet.

With current increasing costs of living, don't know why they're holding on to it, esp after they're now not increasing benefits in line with inflation, as promised previously, so there will be a benefit cut in real terms.

Whilst the press may be speculating on that, that is all it is at this point. The Government don't normally announce how benefits will be uprated until November, and they certainly will not make any decision until they know what the CPI reading is for September - which will be announced on 19th October. So lets wait for the government announcement rather than trying to guess what the policy may be.

Maybe they think that, as the first payment was made in July, there is no rush for the second payment. Better to spread the payments out than pay it all at once.

It might be announced when the pension ans benefit rises are announced later this month.

    • To be eligible for the second payment, families must have been entitled to a payment (or later found to be entitled to a payment) of either:
      • Universal Credit for an assessment period that ended in the period 26 August to 25 September
      • income-based JSA, income-related ESA, Income Support or Pension Credit for any day in the period 26 August 2022 to 25 September 2022.
    • Tax credit-only customers, who will receive the second payment shortly after DWP payments, must have received a payment, or an annual award of at least £26, of tax credits for any day in the period 26 August 2022 to 25 September 2022, or later found to be entitled to tax credits for this period.
    • This payment will be tax-free, will not count towards the benefit cap, and will not have any impact on existing benefit awards."
