A significant amount of payments will be made on the 9th.

I posted a post yesterday but it's been removed bizarrely with the official new date for the second payment. It's November 8th.

No it’s not. The payment period  starts on 8th November but extends to 23rd November (for most people). This period applies to those qualifying under DWP benefits. Tax Credit claimants will be paid later. Full details

This is basically a lottery then, had I become 'poor enough' to get UC three days earlier I would be £324 better off. It's not very well thought through and sadly many will fall through the gaps.

I wouldn't say it's a lottery. The Government have to set a criteira otherwise everyone that claims those benefits would be entitled. It was the same for the support during Covid, some got everything, some got a little and others got nothing. They can't please everyone.
