VALM said:dolly84 said:GAI painted my nails last week with OPI Every month is Octoberfest - I've had this a very, very long time but it is still lovely to apply and hardly used because I just don't like the colour. I've given it away so it might actually get used.
Wow, that's a blast from the past. I had a few from that collection. I had Germanicure by OPI rather than the Oktoberfest colour. Wonder if I still hve any.
Have another UU this morning - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer: WBA, and I've been using it on it's own daily for a light bit of coverage for virtual meetings. Now only have 1 concealer in the stash and will probably repurchase this when that one is finished.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175 -
2 more UUSLo Fi bronzer from the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette. I have another bronzer in this palette and then the only one I will own is a Bare Minerals Pressed Warmth which I'll definitely need to save for the Summer.Skin Saints Vitamin C Serum. This was lovely. Am going to try the Balance one next though to see how it compares as it is cheaper.

Been a bit AWOL this week and quite a few random empties and other outs racked up!
UU- Mad Beauty Salt & Pepper Body lotion- Ginger pear fragrance: Bought this a zillion years ago in TKMaxx, nice when I finally decided to start using it. Quite light, absorbs nicely, smells nice. Doubt I could buy it again now even if I wanted to- wouldn't have thought it's still sold anywhere!
- Garnier Ambre Solaire Anti-Age Super UV Protection Cream with Hyaluronic Acid SPF50: A fave. Got the one with glycerin to try next (as they didn't have this one)- assume it will be quite similar, but we'll see.
- I'm From- Mugwort Essence: Liked this, felt soothing. I would repurchase, but I have a serum with mugwort in, so I'll use that up first.
- Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel: Nice to have actual shaving gel for a change, but will just go back to conditioner for a bit to save some cash
- Pampers babywipes- Coconut Pure Protection: Like these ones, and they have that clippy opening so they don't dry out. WBA, they're handy to have around.
Throw away- NYX Glitter Goals: A palette of 5 TEN pressed glitters. This was a gift a while back which I kept because it was a gift, but I'm Marie-Kondo-ing it- thanking it for serving its purpose (of being a gift and therefore an expression of love and kindness from a family member/friend), but it doesn't perform very well so I am letting it go. The glitters just don't apply nicely, and I don't use it.
- Sugarpill- Liquid Lip Colour in Clink: This is very dried out, and also it's too dark for me. I tried it a few times before making the decision, and I did actually enjoy the grungy quality the colour gave more than I thought I would- looks v moody, but it's applies terribly now anyway, so in the bin it goes.
Gave Away- Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint- Banana Split: This colour was an experiment, but it just didn't work out. Don't like how it applies, or the colour on me. Going to take it into work and see if anyone wants it.
Might take a few other nail polishes too, see if anyone at work wants them. I currently have a different nail colour on each finger, all ones I don't love, to see which I could part with. It's tough decision making even when I don't like them!

Running total is now -9
UU a sample of 111Skin Nocturnal Eclipse Recovery cream, really liked this, will consider purchasing when I have no other night creams lined up.
UU a sample of Goldfaden MD Vital Boost Even Skintone daily moisturiser. Only used this on my neck, it feels quite nice but has that fake chocolate orange smell which I'm not a fan of.

I have a couple of insBody Shop Cammomile Cleansing Butter - I bought this a bit earlier than needed to get the freebie they were offering. Some of the items from the free gift are going into DD's Christmas hamper but I am keeping a mini pot of Shea body butter and a small face mask pot. The other items were a sheet mask, hemp hand cream and a mini cleansing butter.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I've managed to jam another pot of this tightly shut. Wish they would change the packaging.

Running total is -10! Just need to stay away from shops for the rest of October!
UU an Olaplex No 0 (155ml) and an Olaplex No 3 (20ml), counting as one as you use them together. Never really know what I think about Olaplex to be honest, I've used it in the past and been blown away but then I've used it and not liked how my hair felt so would use again if I received samples but wouldn't buy it.

Last INS and Outs of the month. It 100% was not my best month with INS/spending
UU- Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover: does the job.
- The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density 60ml: I did not use this as regularly as I should, so I'm not sure how well it worked. I'm going to repurchase though, as my hair has thinned this year (age? covid? stress?) and I figure it can't hurt!
INS- MUOBU Vegan Eco-Friendly Mica Pigment Powder 63 - Metal Orange: Naughty purchase alert! Well, I've been looking for a replacement orange since my Sugarpill in Feral ran out a hundred years ago, and I haven't found a good one yet. I was ordering some green slime makeup for Halloween (not listing on here as an IN, as it's part of my a Halloween getup, not actual makeup - I wouldn't put fake blood on here, so I'm not putting slime) and saw they had this on the same site, the colour looked great, so I wanted to give it a try. It's a great colour, I really like it- wearing it today- Happy Halloween all!
They have a couple of different shades of oranges, so when I use this I'll try the others, but I have a feeling this one is for the win.
- MUOBU Vegan Eco-Friendly Mica Pigment Powder 19 - Green Unicorn: Been on the lookout for a greenish shifty highlighter, so going to try this as it was only £4.
- Sugarpill- Liquid Lip Colour in Dropout: A purchase for Halloween, buuuuuuut counting this one as it is just a liquid lipstick- despite it being a grungy green!
- Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover: replacement for the one that ran out
Month tallies
My UUs and INS are neck and neck this month- 23 of each- INS: 23 (14 replacements, 1 new product type, 8 unnecessary items)- £128.61.
- OUTS: 23 (19 UUs, 3 throw aways, 1 gave away)
My aim next month is to keep my INS below a £100, and keep chipping away at reducing that each month. I know that is still far too much money to spend on toiletries right now, but baby steps.Jan Grocery Challenge 2023: £181.18/£400
