I've had the philips sonicare for 2 years now. The toothbrush is fantastic. However, I am ditching it this month for a cheaper braun as i can't face spending yet another £15 for a new brush head when i can get a whole new toothbrush for that.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0

I've had a sonicare for years now and it's fantastic. My dentist always comments on how clean my teeth are!
I'm 39 and only have one filling ("fitted" at 30) so I'm hoping the sonicare will keep things this way. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

I'm afraid it won't.
It will keep gum disease at bay, but cavities are caused by decay which is to do with how much sugar is in your diet and when it is eaten, not how clean your teeth are!How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
what are ultrasonic toothbrushes? what is the difference between them and ordinary electric toothbrushes? I need to get an electric toothbrush for son who has weird dental condition inherited from his father's side of the family in which he has little enamel on his teeth and the surfaces are pitted. He also has probs with his back teeth wearing down too quickly.Ellie
