We were recommended to use the phillips sonic toothbrushes by our dentist and managed to get one on special offer at Boots for £40.00 last year, might be worth checking them out.Smootchie Bootchies!0

I can't :eek:How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
A waterpick is a thing likeTHIS.
They have their uses, but I wouldn't get one unless you've been recommended it by a dentist/hygienist.
They only really work for people with gaps caused by receeding gums, and there are many less fiddly ways for getting debris out with cheap interdental brushes.
These would only be of use to someone who couldn't use those for one reason or another.
Unless, of course you're a gadget freak! How to find a dentist.

we bought a Sonic last week only to take it back because the heads are not inter-changeable - so no good if you have a partner or family. Once the head is on, it's designed to stay on for 3 months until you change it. So in reality you need a sonic for each person in your house - not ideal
we're going to buy another oscillating/pulsating one0 -

I bought my sonic toothbrush on Ebay for around £30. I think this one was double in the shops. I was happy with how clean my teeth were, but you do have to be very careful with your gums, as I made mine really hurt before I got used to using the sonic.
However, last week (having only had the toothbrush for about 5 months), I was drying it with a towel, and managed to snap the whole head off the brush. I was not being rough with it, they are just SO delicate. The whole thing is now useless and I had to throw it away. So beware!
I won't buy another one due to this. I will buy one of the old style electric ones, which get your teeth almost as clean anyway (and they don't hurt your gums).

I was advised to get a sonic toothbrush by my hygienist - I've got the Sonicare with 2 heads so that OH and I can use it. I really like it.
