Someone else might've been able to successfully moderate his behaviour. And I think he would've preferred to be "passed around" than killed. I sure would.
Highly unlikely.............that old saying 'you cannot teach an old dog new tricks' :rolleyes:Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings

Why don't you tell all the rescue kennels that you are willing to give a home to the dogs that bite. Perhaps you could put some adds up too and advertise on the Internet?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Maybe somebody would have been able to retrain him
but where do you find these people? Sadly there are many safe (for want of a better word!) dogs looking for homes cos there are too many dogs out there......
The important thing IMO is that you can't explain to them why they are being taken away from all they know and "passing around" is very stressful so when there is little or no chance of a successful rehoming the responsible if very very difficult thing to do is to put them to sleep.....remember dogs don't have the knowledge of what is about to happen, we're the ones who assign human emotions to them.....they can't make value choices ie I'll be a good boy so I'm not PTS!!!!:rolleyes:0
