My supplier has contacted me and told meMy supplier contacted me (Scottish Power) and I got a bit of a surprise at the E7 rates which are down by 28% to what I'm paying now. It was £0.1091 per kWh when on a fixed deal which ran it early in the year. The April cap saw that rise to £0.15688 and I'm told the Oct 1st rate will be £0.11283 which is good seeing as I use upwards of 12000 units annually on E7Peak rate has gone up to £0.44767 from £0.341840

The info is on my supplier's websiteEDF have updated the rates for Total Service May 24v4 in the online "My Account".
No email received as yet.
I am on normal dual fuel.
3 of the 4 elements were already below the Government EPG figures, the electricity unit rates has been reduced from 34.85 to 33.76p (South Scotland)0 -
I can guess based on the rates published by ofgem
If your current fixed rate is more than 16.998p above the EPG cap (or 4.2p more for gas) then you can move to the SVT, else you can stay on your fix. So either way you'll be on the EPG rates. If it confuses you, just drop onto the SVT EPG as from 1st Oct.FreeBear said:rp1974 said: For the small number of customers who fixed at a high rate exceeding the October Ofgem price cap of £3,549 (£3,674 paying on receipt of bill), they will receive the full discount of 16.998p for electricity and 4.2p for gas. To make sure that those customers also benefit from the EPG we will bring their fixed price down to be in line with the government's £2,500 average threshold. In my mind, that bit is as clear as mud... So will they be dropping the rates so that we still end up paying the EPG cap (34p elec. 10.3p gas) ?Still waiting for an email from Eon.Next...

So you are entirely ignoring the wording in the paragraph that is being discussed. Practical, but not particularly helpful in the discussion.Astria said:

I can guess based on the rates published by ofgemActually reading the title again I should have gone with "sorry I haven't a clue" because we literally have no idea what (if anything) will be happening with our tariff.
They've said they'll contact everyone by the end of the week. We'll see.2 -
My supplier has contacted me and told meEDF emailed me at the weekend with my new prices. These prices match those shown in the below PDF document.Above is a link to a PDF found online, titled "Government Energy Price Guarantee prices".As per the document, the prices are "effective from 1 October 2022".

A couple of days in to October, this changes to
61.30p KWh 37.92p SC electricity, 15.09p KWh 27.22p SC gas. So will I be paying 44p KWh electricity & 10.89p KWh gas or will they reduce the fixed tariff rate to match the EPG. At the moment, my account is saying the higher rate (61.3p/15.09p) without any indication of EPG cut or any other adjustment. So I shouldn't need to contact Eon.Next to cancel my fixed tariff, and I should have had an email by now...We will adjust fixed tariffs automatically. Customers on fixed tariffs do not need to take any action to get the benefits of this scheme. We're contacting customers directly over the coming days to confirm what the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) means for them and how, together with the Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS), it will affect your bills.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
