Do you know what your electricity and gas per unit and standing charge will be from 1st October?

    I'm in the "as long as they inform me before I receive October's bill in November then I'm OK with that" camp.

    People worry far too much.
    I see your camp from the "doesn't really matter at this point, I'll deal with it later if they get it wrong" camp across the river.
    As I say, people worry far too much especially about things they don't have any control over.

    Being on a fixed tariff until next February, I already know.

    I can guess based on the rates published by ofgem
    I'm in the "EDF has published rates and I very much doubt anyone else other than maybe Octopus will beat those rates" category, but I don't have to deal with it for another month so plenty of time.

    My supplier has contacted me and told me
    Informed by Eon Next via an email that was recieved 21/09 and explained clearly,to me at least,what was happening,when it was happening,and the rates applicable.
    Wouldn't have expected much different though,as with most suppliers they'll be inundated by a deluge of debatably unnecessary calls,continual emails etc.

    Fixed tariff customers.

    For those customers on fixed rate tariffs paying by Direct Debit, a ‘floor’ unit price will come into effect on 1 October. For gas, it will average at 10.3p/kWh and for electricity at 34p/kWh. We're introducing a floor unit price because some people will have fixed at much lower prices some time ago, meaning their annual payments will already be below the £2,500 average set by the government’s Energy Price Guarantee (EPG).

    Unit price reductions of up to 17p/kWh for electricity and 4.2p/kWh for gas will apply to fixed tariff customers to bring their unit prices down to, but not below, the floor unit price. Customers on fixed rate tariffs that are already below the floor unit prices will continue to enjoy those low prices, but won't receive a further discount for the duration of their fixed term.

    For the small number of customers who fixed at a high rate exceeding the October Ofgem price cap of £3,549 (£3,674 paying on receipt of bill), they will receive the full discount of 16.998p for electricity and 4.2p for gas. To make sure that those customers also benefit from the EPG we will bring their fixed price down to be in line with the government's £2,500 average threshold.

    We will adjust fixed tariffs automatically. Customers on fixed tariffs do not need to take any action to get the benefits of this scheme. We're contacting customers directly over the coming days to confirm what the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) means for them and how, together with the Energy Bills Support Scheme (EBSS), it will affect your bills.

    In my mind, that bit is as clear as mud... So will they be dropping the rates so that we still end up paying the EPG cap (34p elec. 10.3p gas) ?

    It unfortunately does not help me with the day/night split for the E7 version of my tariff. I'm on Next Online v15 and at present the single electricity unit rate for my region is 43.54p. The E7 rates are day 44.05p and night 27.75p. So even very minimal night usage will result in an average lower than the single rate. At an 80/20% day/night split, the average unit price is 40.79p. (The difference in standing charge is trivial - less than 30p per year!) That's roughly my position.

    I'm hoping that this sort of price differential will be maintained when the rates are lowered, and it was with this hope in mind that I finally decided not to jump back to the SVT a few weeks ago, because I reckoned that over the remainder of my time on the tariff I could claw back the overpayment I have made compared with just staying on the SVT throughout. Now with only three days left, I am still waiting for the details.

    none of the above. we know what our rate will be from 1 october because we're on a fix under the cap until march. we are assuming from march we will move onto the cap for our region but i'm guessing people who are on a fix lower than the cap are at the bottom of the list for being contacted at the moment and we will get an email probably within a month of our fix ending with any options we have (not expecting any fixes to be offered but they normally send an email about a month before the end with the standard variable rates and any fixes). 

    ii've just gone to look and the FAQ on their website seems to have all the info but you have to scroll down a bit to find the parts relevant to you and it still doesn't say what would happen from march (maybe because no one really knows that far in advance right now) https://www.ovoenergy.com/pricecap
