@Mstty Oh yes I thought I posted here, how did you find that? I did a search on messages and notifications and that wasn't there, just really old stuff.
This is issue is just about the contract and the requests I've made to get it. I just need to know at what point can I reasonably conclude that there was no contract? Surely, after 4 requests?0 -
Your last post on the other thread said that if you bought a shower eOn would fit it. Has that happened? Do you now have a working shower? If you do, what resolution are you looking for?
What’s the purpose of trying to find out if there was a contract or not?
And have you sent them a formal subject access request? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Of course there was a contract, but it may have been verbal, not written. Both have the same validity, but if it's verbal, then it's not possible to define what was agreed.
You must have received a written quote? If so, that should serve as the basis for a written contract, in that it should detail materials, labour and a price. What does it say re the shower, if anything?
Presumably you swapped a conventional boiler for a combi and had a pumped shower that would of course then not work from the combi, as it must be tank-fed? If so, that should have been explained to you at the time of the survey, unless otherwise agreed, I can see no reason why Eon would have paid for the cost of a new electric shower or install: it would have been your choice to dispense with the tank and switch to a combi. And then your reponsibility and cost to install a new shower. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi Yes Eon have installed the shower. My MP is now contacting Eon on my behalf as they have failed to declare their policy on dealing with a customer who needs a shower for urgent medical reasons. It was 2 weeks post operation, and a long list of complications, before the shower was finally done. My partner who's a doctor has been taking it up with them, because either they seriously violated their own policy, or their policy needs urgent amendment. I had to moved out of the house on 3 occasions whilst trying to recover from the operation. The MP has mentioned the contract, that's why I'm asking the current question. And yes I did make a subject access request. Eon have failed to reply to a single concern on the medical issue, but offered £500 for the inconvenience of not having a working shower for a year and half. On this offer they said it was the final communication. So I had no choice but to either take legal action, or get my MP involved. The MP has been amazing in taking it seriously. Thanks for the reply0

Via their data protection officer?dataprotection@eonenergy.comIf they fail to respond, I wonder if the ICO would be the next step?
Although I’m still not entirely clear what outcome it is that you’re looking for, Oh what you’re trying to achieve by concluding that there wasn’t a contract? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

@elsien many thanks. Sorry should have said. Eon did the work but they are saying they did it as a goodwill gesture. So they are basically saying, they didn't need to do the work, and had no obligation to do the work. We'd like to make sure this doesn't happen to others. It was a terrible experiance to have to keep moving house, when I was so ill and in pain.0

Without the evidence of the survey or contract, it's not possible to say what was agreed or omitted from the original quote.
In general, it's always a terrible idea to get gas or plumbing work done by a national. Eon know nothing about either: they're an energy retailer, so the work is always going to be done by unaccountable subbies whom you will never see again. Use a local independent GSR RGI who will value your custom in the hope of an annual service callout to maintain the warranty..No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
