EDF Meter reads

I got a proper acknowledgement page today. It said thanks and that it will take a few days to register my meter reading.I have tried every day since 30th Sept, and this is the first time I have seen this page since then. My account still shows that the last reading was in August (which is wrong, because I also sent a reading at beginning of September).

Thanks for the heads up on this - I gave mine to an actual person over the phone on Friday - yet mine is also showing a HUGE underestimate now. I’ll give it a few days to see if the proper reading makes its way through but if not they’ll be getting a huge moan from me - the reading they’ve estimated is 00674 - my actual one was 00680 so in terms of our use that’s a big discrepancy!molerat said:Check the address bar - if it has thankyou in it then your read has gone through. I had that yesterday and my read updated today - although they have altered it in their favour, complaint submitted. They have replied to my complaint. They have totally ignored the actual complaint and simply raised a bill dated 1st Oct using the read I gave them for the 1st and kept the read for 30th at their lower figure charging me for those extra units at the higher price. The major problem seems to be that it is a lack of understanding from the overseas CS.

What was your reading on 30th and your reading on the 1st & what have they used instead?molerat said:EssexHebridean said:

The major problem seems to be that it is a lack of understanding from the overseas CS.It is quite simple, the numbers are irrelevant and the actual monetary amount is not that large, it is the principle that counts and if they want to tie their CS up for weeks then it is up to them.I submitted an accurate read on 30th, the end of the lower price period, and they have substituted that with a lower reading so charging for the difference between those 2 readings at the new higher rate.

So reply to their reply saying you want a bill up to 30th September based on your meter reading taken on that day which was xxxxx. It obviously is to do with the numbers & monetary amount otherwise you wouldn’t be making such a fussmolerat said:Mobtr said:

My account (whole month DD) showing bill of £65.16 to go out DD on Oct 13. However overnight the balance is showing as 84p credit so the £66 has been applied. Will be interesting to see if the DD goes ahead which i think it will...0

I provided my readings to EDF on the 1st October using their new online form. But when I checked back a few days later they hadn't registered in my account. So I tried again, and it still didn't work. So today I had an online chat with one of their CS reps and gave them my readings. Hopefully that's sorted now. I'd urge anyone who thinks they have already given their readings online to check again, as the CS rep acknowledged that there is an ongoing "technical issue" regarding submission of meter reads.1
