How do some people run their houses on 3kw per day
    Baseload for a house is about 100wph x 24hours = 2.4kw
So running the rest of the house tv/kettle/microwave/lighting etc on 600w please let me know how you do it
    Depends on lifestyle I guess.

I have all the following on 24/7

NAS which is really a converted second PC.
    3 networking devices.
    Fridge
    TV standby

For about 12-16 hours a day

    Gaming PC is on.

On average half a dozen uses of kettle, but increasing now its not so warm.  Because its hard for me to physically keep filling it I dont use it at efficient load.
    Oven usually twice daily.

My average usage is about 6-7 kWh.  I have days at around 5 kWh or even a little lower, some days can go as high as 8 point something but are rare.

I expect no longer using my PC would easily get it down to about 4 a day, kill the NAS and its down to 3.

Note I am not gaming 16 hours a day, I use it for things I could do on a laptop, so I am considering hooking up a monitor, and mouse/kb for laptop, and only using the PC when I actually want to use it for multimedia stuff, that will save me a ton of usage.  Gaming PCs are very inefficient for web browsing lol.

It is also worth looking at the routing of the pipework to see if it can be reduced. The fewer bends and the less water in the pipes add up to a small increase in efficiency. Not enough to be noticeable, but every little bit that you can squeeze out of the system helps. Balancing the radiators properly will be the one thing that will make the biggest difference. Fitting a programmable thermostat will also help to cut consumption.

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

    Solar panels.
  • We are a dual fuel household and so far this month we're using £2.02 a day, it was about the same last month.
  • Varies between £2.10 - £2.50 per day. That will, of course, increase once the gas CH is used. And shock horror that will be supplemented with a coal fire.
Just over 4kWh/day averaged over the last month.
Gas boiler only used for hot water (stored), at the moment, set at a 30 minute on period every day, cylinder thermostat controlled.

We have reduced from 6kw a day average to 5.4 a day for electric… still trying to track down what’s using it all.

    Electric cooker
    never had a tumble drier
    no dishwasher
no fish tanks, pond pumps or pets etc.

gas central heating (off apart from for hot water) averaging 6 kw a day… for half an hour of hot water a day, which is hot enough for 1 bath and washing up.  Maybe I should go check my m3 conversion maths!

But hot water tank doesn't have the suggested 80mm lagging on it.
