Not sure it’s possible to really reduce it as everything used is needed
I doubt that if you had the heating on part of the day.
  • Mine is between £3 and £4 according to the smart meter and I’ve had the heating on part of the day.  The house is a small 3 bed detached with 10 rads. Can expect this to double in cold weather - what do you think?

I can tell you it cost me today (day 24th) 68p for my electricity and 26p for the gas these numbers include standing charges.

Monday (26th September) it will cost me £1.47 for electricity and 50p for gas (including standing charges).

House is a mid terraced with 6 radiator's....What do you think?

Its as Xbigman has said, given we all on different tariffs and different regional SVR rates.

But dividing my most recent bill by 30 days, its roughly about £2.90 a day. Including standing charge and VAT.

Note I am on tariffs that are slightly above EPG rates so more expensive than pre October SVR.

I think you either on a really cheap tariff or you you have extremely low electric usage of less than a unit a day. :)  Thats the issue of comparing costs instead of usage, the unknown variable of tariff.

We are using £3.90 a day now without heating. 7.5kWh elec @40p=£3 and 10kWh pellets for kitchen space, hot water & towel rail = 90p.
In the winter the heating will be £9.00 a day unless I can persuade hubby to turn it off but the electric much the same.

An average of £1.20/day on electricity incl. SC. But as others have pointed out, there are so many variables that comparison is essentially meaningless.

    Exactly.... Unknown variables.....
I've used on average in September 2.7 kWh's a day of electric and 2.2 kWh's of gas a day...
The price I said for yesterday (the 24th) was the price of my cheap fix finishing. Monday I'll be paying the new rates.

As someone posted earlier kWh's is what everyone should be looking at as it's a constant.

In pricewise I reckon I use £1.10, 4kWh, in electric minus the SC and gas around 9p minus the SC but add the SC's and the total will be £1.59 & 37p respectively, less than £2 per day. The gas was double that per day until I altered the temperatures on the boiler.
Someone please tell me what money is
