Deed of variation

Our mortgage offer runs out in two weeks.

The solicitor decided two weeks ago we needed a deed of variation for the management company to not throw us out if we don’t pay rent charge.

on Thursday it was agreed (finally) that this would be done and the vendors solicitors has requested one from management company and put forward the deadline.

has anyone experience of DOVs and is this quick possible?

I’m currently going through the exact same thing but have a lot more time as it was spotted early on by our solicitor. 4 weeks in up to now but I guess it all depends on the developer/management company.

Ours is direct with the Miller homes and they did seem well setup to handle this as they knew exactly what I was on about when I enquired about price.

We flagged it up in June. There was a lot of to and from in from the solicitor “ so they don’t they” then waiting for management packnetc. So I’m quite cross!!!

Yes I did, as I wanted to find out a ball park price incase seller didn’t want to pay.
  • Oh interesting . Wasn’t sure if it was “allowed” as such!

This is different to a ground rent DoV. This is an estate rent change for freehold properties (fleecehold), very common on new build estates.
