    All changed, thanks.

Ready to email it now... this is going to my local court where the hearing is right?  I.e. not CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk this time?
And copied to the Claimant (or their solicitor, if the claim didn't come from CEL themselves).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Yes I did this, thank you though

I received confirmation from both the solicitors and the court, so now I guess I wait and see what happens. Court date is towards the end of May.

  • I have to say I really admire your courage @SJRRJS. You have been through every parents worst nightmare but still found the strength and tenacity to fight against these scammers. Hat's off to you. Wishing you all the best o:)

 Thank you for the kind words. To be honest every day is tough, she was my only child and things have been awful since I lost her.

I almost gave up and paid the charge to make it go away, but it kind of feels like they are kicking me when I'm down, plus I strongly feel it it was an unfair and unwarranted charge, so had to fight back.

This forum and advice really helped, so thanks once again to everyone that contributed!

As a parent myself, I can only respect the fortitude that you show. I think we all feel for you, and in the scheme of things a PCN is nothing against what you are going through. Nevertheless, you show amazing strength and as you are finding, if any of us can help, even in a small way, we will.

    I admire you

    Evening all  :)

I haven't heard anything further from them so looks like I am heading for a court date in a week. I have found the crib sheet mentioned elsewhere on the forum and will make one of my own. Just wondered if there were any other tips or advice about what I can expect at the hearing?

Just three or four people sitting round a table having a discussion.
Are you looking at any other threads?

Not browsing the latest threads no, just using the search (obviously not that well!) and looking through the "stickies", but that video is helpful, thanks.

The court looks less intimidating than my imagination.

And I posted this on the same thread - always good to look at other threads as question is (almost) always likely to have been asked and answered: -
Be prepared by reading all your paperwork, defence, witness statement and the claimant's WS so that you can pull it part in the hearing (if required).  Write yourself a crib sheet so you know what parts you want to raise (if you are given the opportunity) and cross reference the points to the relevant paragraph numbers in your defence/WS. If it is a F2F jobbie, get there early to pass through security, do not agree to talk to anybody (except court officials) in a side room and do not accept any papers from anybody.  Take an extra copy of YOUR WS in case the claimant or their rep tries to pull the "we didn't receive the defendant's WS" trick. Dress smartly - even if it is a video or phone hearing - Smart of Body = Smart of Mind!
