  • Thanks everyone. The last paper bill I got was pre covid. As much as I ask in email or txt chat they won't send me any and it was then that it was calculated I only use 20% of the cheaper e7 tarrif 
    Doesn't have to be paper, do you not get PDF bills?
    I get no bills

    by pay as you go you mean pre-pay where you add credit? if so i think you can see some information via the buttons on your meter., maybe if you took a picture of it the people her could tell you if you can and which buttons to press? 

    have you tried twitter? i have found direct messages to be very useful when wanting to talk to a company about a problem. their customer service normally gets back to me same day.

    That’s old style prepayment not PAYG. PAYG is a smart meter where you top up online. If you have an E7 prepayment meter it needs to be changed to go onto standard rate but I’m sure you know that already. You will not get a standard prepayment meter, it will be a smart PAYG

    That’s old style prepayment not PAYG. PAYG is a smart meter where you top up online. If you have an E7 prepayment meter it needs to be changed to go onto standard rate but I’m sure you know that already. You will not get a standard prepayment meter, it will be a smart PAYG 

    Smart meter, or non-smart meter, if you have to top up before you can use energy, you are PAYG or prepayment.  Prepayment and PAYG are the same thing.

    Not true, at least in the language that some of the suppliers use.

    EdF, to name one, use prepayment to mean key and coin meters, and PAYG to mean smart meter topped up before use.

    If you choose to use the words differently, feel free, but don't confuse others with your pedantry.
