Isn’t this a consideration:

According to Press Reports, a number of viable businesses are struggling to renew their energy contracts because suppliers are concerned that they may not get paid. How much does the broker known about your present situation?0 -
I have checked new contract saying it will be 20k per yearRobin9 said:Somewhere along the line you are going to have to pay a re-connection charge.
You will be entering a new contract with all that that involves for a small business - no cooling off period and a probable commitment to use xxxxxx kWh in the year.
As above your old supplier will pursue their debt through the courts.
Is your business actually viable ? You will have been shut for over a month - you will have lost customers but still have your overheads of the lease, wages
that’s £400 odds a week
How is that substainable0 -
EDF must be basing this on the consumption figures you gave the broker.

What exactly did you tell the broker about your business and your energy use?Sheepo82 said:

You're supposed to check how much the electricity will cost before you agree the contract.Business energy has gone up in price a lot, and the residential price cap doesn't apply. Unless the government announces something wonderful, a lot of small businesses are going to go bust.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
@sheepo82
What unit rates are you being quoted please ? Dont forget to include VAT.
What is the estimated consumption ?
Was the £20k before or after this weeks announcement ?
Edit : You ask" "How is that sustainable" - you need to ask your accountant and not random members on this forum.
