  • Yes, I am financially worse off in the new job, obviously I am starting from the bottom again and in real terms, will work out about 6k less per year.

If I am re-instated, I will return to work as my immediate team and manager have all been wonderful but, I will not feel the same loyalty to the co. that I had before, and certainly would stop all the unpaid overtime etc.

I would still look around for other jobs, but at least, I would be in a position to pick & choose what I really wanted to do.

Ah 6k that does make a major difference, worth a thought sorry.

The other thing is, its good that you have another job, just say the worst happen and you didnt get reinstated it went to tribunal, if the tribunal found in your favour, you would be able to claim lost of earnings, ie the difference between now and then.

As for getting into press, (its meant in the nicest of ways) - if you were having illicet nookie, flying from the chandilers in work time with the boss, then the press may be interested, generally most employment cases dont make it to the papers, my hearings, I had 3 sets at the tribunal, none of them made the paper, nor did another mgr I worked with she got sacked, with adjournments she had 6 sets of hearings she won her case, but that didnt make the papers.

it just depends whats going on at the time. X
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • I hope things pan out the way you want them to. I feel its been really unfair as you did not slate the company and the new manual of do's and don'ts about internet use is only being revised 'after' the event so you were not protected by them if that makes sense.

Just wanted to say though be careful what you are writing now as surely they will still be checking what you are saying about them and your last post may not go down too well if you see what I mean.
  • Hi ive only just read your thread. My OH was sacked 2 years ago a fortnight before christmas, his crime was leaving the building to come out to me in the car for lottery money, he told his supervisor but was still sacked for gross misconduct? He appealed on the grounds that their disciplinary procedure states that all employees must be treated equally and consistently and so they would have had to sack every employee that left the building (he was still on their premises in the carpark) in work time. The week before the hearing we sat outside in the car and listed each employee who did this there was 36 people in total. They also did not follow procedure because they allowed the same people who did the investigation to do the hearing. He was given his job back, although they said it was on a technicality and they were still correct in sacking him.I was worried they would find any excuse to sack him after that but its been ok.
My partner is very vocal about his rights and I think they wanted to get rid of him and make an example of him.
He works for a well known furniture company whos stuff is Made For Idiots (get it).
Anyway I hope it goes ok for you , it makes you think doesnt it its like big brother watching us all the time.
