Hi LMD - your scare sounds awful but I’m so glad that it wasn’t cancer and they have started to go away. You will also be ready to ditch 2022.

I have a busy weekend of cleaning and Christmas prep ahead. I would normally leave the Xmas tree to next weekend but my sister and family are home next Saturday so I better get to it this weekend. I’m writing a To Do list below to keep me on track (I like a list 😊).

    To Do
    • Buy final presents and wrap them all
    • Make spare room liveable again (gathers up so much carp when not in use)
    • Clean house from top to bottom
    • Meet friend for coffee
    • Ironing mountain 😞
Actually the list isn’t too scary…. I hope.

money front - ok today will be a spendy day.  I mainly have small stocking fillers to buy but I need -
    • cards and stamps
    • 2 x boxes chocs
    • 7 x selection sweets
    • Presents for - boss, staff member, aunt, mum, nephew.
First things first - coffee and put any leftover money from this week into coin jar.

You need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance.
  • We are also aiming to get the tree up this weekend when we are back home tomorrow.

Good luck getting the rest of your shopping, we are aiming to pick up the rest of hubby’s shopping today and then I can get his wrapped on Monday.

Enjoy your catch up with your friend

    Thanks LMD & ES

Im not the best at updating my thread but I’m still plugging away at the debt (Well I’m not adding to it 😊).

Mum got her results and it is cancer but low grade, the consultant wants to run a few more tests but it is probably going to be a watch and wait situation with regular check ups. I think we knew it was cancer but not what strength - the issues she had aren’t as bad at the minute so that is why doctor wants to do more investigations.

I’m picking up sis and her kids today from the airport and that is Xmas officially started.

  • Oh @Mliz, I’m so sorry the diagnosis was cancer, if it’s low grade does that mean it’s treatable and she can make a full recovery? My great aunt had cancer and at 78 had surgery to remove it and has fully recovered.

Hope you enjoy family time xx

  • Low grade cancer is not the worst news but still distressing. It is important to note that not all cancers are life threatening. At least they can keep an eye on it.

Enjoy your time with your sister.

    Thanks LMD, ES

sorry picked up a horrible cold/not quite a flu and it wiped me out. Lovely to see sister and her family but they could have left the sick bugs behind. So at the minute the doctors want to do a few more tests but I think it is going to be a watch and wait situation with Mum.  We’ve been through a recent aggressive cancer situation,  so mum is very optimistic and she should live out her days with minimal treatment. Next hospital appointment is February.

So I’ve just had a sick birthday but I got some lovely pressies, perfume, ring, wine, sweets and vouchers.  I am also flying out on Tuesday for 2 weeks on holiday 😊.

Tonight I’m going to a friends for a few drinks and then tomorrow is a prep day for Xmas. Boxing Day will be a packing day and then hopefully all being well I will avoid all the airport strikes and find myself a beach.

Thinking ahead - I’m determined that 2023 will be my debt free year and a low spend year.

  • Aww happy belated birthday 🥳 I hope you had a good day even though you were poorly.

It’s a great time to go away and miss all of the hectic sales days, not to mention the rubbish weather!

    Have a fabulous Christmas

    Thanks LMD,

Last night I met up with friends at their house but was home early. This cold is a shocker but everyone I know has it or just over it and I now have a cold sore starting - not good for the holiday look.

I have to pop to butchers today and might meet up with some friends for an hour in the local pub this afternoon.

    Happy Christmas Eve all 😊
