My bank doesn’t know what’s hitting it this morning 😂 - I’ve cancelled some subscriptions (laithwaites) and some of my direct debits go out from my credit card so I’ve moved them to my bank and I think that should mean bills etc will come out of 1 account and I will stop using my credit card until my debt is gone.
also the thought of real money going out of my account tends to kerb my spending because it feels more real. You need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance.2 -
It's that day for me too, it gets to 1st of month and my bank account is practically sobbing! I do have my 'spends' in other accounts though so my main account just covers bills and PADding.

LMD - it’s such a lovely feeling between payday and 1st of the month when there is money in the account before it takes off like Usain Bolt 😂.
I made a PAD of £248 today so that brings my total debt to £12,850 which to me is so much nicer than £13k+ and if I stick to my plan I will squeak into £11k category before Xmas.

Morning
Yesterday was an NSD but I’ve already been on Etsy this morning (Christmas shopping) and have bought 2 small purses at £7 each for 2 good friends. I wanted something small but nice and both have patterns that my friends will appreciate.
I have 5 people sorted and 5 to go - it is trying to think of nice things I’m stuck on … I know exactly what to get 1 sister but the other is a mystery. I have spent £100/£400 of Xmas savings.
I have a busy day in work today but first I’m meeting a friend for a run. I’m taking Monday as a leave day and I’m going out for dinner with work colleagues tomorrow night. I’m driving so don’t expect spending to be too bad (famous last words😊).

I think this is a difficult time of year to be racking up the NSDs Mliz, I have purposefully targeted myself with fewer NSDs this month and I am trying to male a list so that when I do buy gifts they can be clumped together on a spendy day haha

Agree LMD - hard to get NSDs with Xmas shopping.
I love purses and before this latest lightbulb I bought a purse on Vinted for £40 and y’day on my run I thought to myself was it worth it (my friend and I discuss random things on our run) and honestly it was just the thrill of shopping and nothing more. I came home and listed 3 purses on Vinted including the 1 I just ‘had to have’ and have already sold 2 of them for £10 each. I still have purses that I have had for years and I’m back using 1 that is cute and circle back to each time. I will put the £20 to my credit card. Now I think it will take a lot more thought provoking runs before I am brave enough to part with handbags 😂.
today’s plans, niece and I will go to post office with my parcels, then to playball, then some grocery shopping (my monthly Asda order had no sultanas I need for making Xmas cakes) and then I’m out tonight for dinner.
I had thought of getting up early to clean before niece arrives but that is a silly idea because she is a mini tornado, instead I will do a 15 mins yoga session and relax with a nice coffee. Have a lovely day all.

Just read through your diary Mliz - well done on all your progress! You sound very organised. I have been trying to get back to posting to help keep me accountable re any and all things financial - maybe today will be the day! Subscribing to cheer you on, good luck.2

Morning! I hope you have a good day with your niece
I am obsessed with handbags and matching purses and unfortunately I favour the ones the horse and carriage logo and the ones with the tree logo 🙈 when I read your post I did wonder if it was one of my purses you bought Haha!
Well done with the sales, I really need to get more stuff listed

Thanks SMoG - all encouragement really appreciated 😊. I wish I was as organised as I sound but I’m getting there. I’ve found your diary and will catch up today x
LMD - I looked up those logos - if I had those purses/bags I don’t think I’d ever let them go x.Yesterday was a great day, I think looking after my niece on a Friday helps to keep me young and knacker me at the same time. Dinner out was delicious and I don’t usually rave about anywhere but I would go back tomorrow. I wasn’t drinking so that cut down the spends (£20) and my friend had recommended parking which was £4 and because I wasn’t drinking i wasn’t part of the kitty but I did give 3 people a lift home so I think I contributed in my own way. We went to a bar after the restaurant and the priority was getting a seat ..which miracle of all miracles we did!! (Yup I’m showing my age). So lovely night out, not expensive and no hangover… but I’m tired.
I’m setting myself a challenge this month to use up the food in my freezer, I must like it if I bought in the past - so it’s time I used it up.No plans today apart from cleaning and tidying … not the most exciting thing but it needs doing.have a lovely day 😊You need to be content with small steps. Hi Mliz, I am doing the opposite when it comes to the freezer. We emptied ours/ran it down for defrosting and now I am on the batch cooking to get it stocked up again with curries, casseroles, chillies and bolognese. I panic when there's nothing in there for emergencies! We only use it for batch cooking, veg and puddings, not frozen ready meals.
I do have expensive taste when it comes to bags and purses, much to hubby's disappointment! However, it does mean that I only buy them very occasionally and when I do, it's because its a considered purchase rather than an impulse buy.
Glad you had another good day with your niece, I think it's lovely that you look after her on a regular basis.
