    And please read:

    - the first 12 steps in the Template Defence thread first post because they don't stop at this point;

    - the IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN (red capitals heading) section of the second post of the NEWBIES thread.

You should only need our assistance again when you get your hearing date, not next month when two standard letters arrive that the above already anticipates and fully covers.

Will do. Many thanks for all your collective help!!
  • OK the N180 has been submitted and CCBC email confirmation received.
From what I can gather the next letter will be a notice of allocation advising the court hearing date and I must prepare a witness statement.

However DBCL have been discontinuing as of late:

Can I ask when do they usually discontinue?
After N180 submitted or after witness statement submitted?

Did you send a copy to the claimant's solicitors?

Yes. They were on the CC list
  • Have received from the county court the Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (hearing)
    Hearing is scheduled for 20/04/2023

Written statements and documents to court and other party deadline is 01/03/2023
Claimant trial fee payment deadline 23/03/2023

Says claimant fee is £27. Cant quite see how they got that amount as they are claiming for £314

Is there any preferable date for sending witness statements and court docs or anytime between now and 01/03/2023 is ok?

Leave it as late as possible to serve your Witness Statement on the Claimant.
You don't want to give them too much (or any) time to dissect your WS and incorporate their bleatings in their Witness Statement.
On the other hand, you are hoping to see their WS before finalising yours.

    But don't delay the preparation.
