And no eligibility for people living in park homes who are often the poorest.
"Subject to Ofgem guidance, we anticipate the Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme will re-open again in September 2022."
https://www.parkhomeswhd.comFor core group 1 pension credit yes.Not for core group 2 means tested benefits or tax credits, and high heating costs as determined by home age and type and size. Unless they change the draft regulations.Warm homes discount draft regulations for core group 2"Households living in Park Homes are not eligible for a rebate. Many residents of Park Homes pay for their electricity supply to their site owner and are therefore not a direct customer of an electricity supplier. Meanwhile, Park Homes which are directly supplied with electricity from an electricity supplier will not be eligible under Core Group 2, as they are not sufficiently comparable to other property types and therefore, we have not been able to model and rank their energy costs in a comparable way."
Odd, they could have assigned the park homes a rating equivalent to a certain age as they don't seem to be very well insulated or efficient.0 -

Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1 -
I am never sure wether to join in, start a new thread or hit google and really scare myself.?
This was all news to me.. i ahvent been keeping up very well with things this year an dhave been checking for the WHD applications to open regularly..so it was a big surprise.
however i get a fuel (cost of living) payment due to PIP i think so that will go towards it.
Just took me by surprise as low income and on PIP we usually get WHD.0 -
I pay a service charge to my HA which covers my electricity. I don't have an account with an electricity supplierI take it I won't be eligible for this similar to the Park Home residents?0

Does anyone know what energy rating on an EPC certificate you need to be able to qualify for the discount?
For the past six years (since I became carer) my parents have received the warm home discount direct from our supplier, but now that the government has taken over we just received a letter saying we are not eligible based on the modeling of our home.
I have checked the website but there is nothing detailing how it is calculated. And the scheme helpline detailed in the letter just directs us back to the website if our letter contains a certain reference, we can't even speak to anyone.
The letter does say we can provide alternative data via an EPC certificate but that has to be paid for and as we are struggling it's a cost I'd rather not have if we are indeed ineligible under the government's rules. On the EPC website, five of the seven properties on our street that already have a certificate have an energy rating of D or E and only two properties have a rating of C, though those two properties have had a lot of work done to them compared to the rest, including ours. If I knew what energy rating the government deems eligible, I'd know if it was worth the cost of the certificate.

Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
You do not need an EPC.
It is suggested as where you can get the information you do need0 -

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2022/03/warm-home-discount-reforms-/All of that was mentioned in the link that Spoonie posted.MalMonroe said:The criteria seem to change every year - a couple of years ago I was eligible (as a pensioner on a low income but not eligible to claim pension credits) for the WHD in the wider group but now I'm apparently too wealthy to even bother claiming (my circumstances haven't changed at all).
The criteria has remained the same in all previous years for those that were claiming Pension credit, including this year. For those that weren't then criteria depended on which energy supplier you were with. For this year the criteria for those no claiming pension credit has completely changed. Part of the criteria is you must be claiming a qualifying means tested benefit and you don't need to apply. If you qualify you will be contacted.
And my own experience is exactly as I posted. I do not qualify for WHD now and I'm happy with that since I have enough money (not a lot but enough) to live on and I know others suffer and need help.
I very rarely return to threads such as this because some of the comments that I receive are less than friendly, some are downright rude and some have a bit of a 'we know better than you so shut up' feel to them.
I'm really disappointed here, as I do always mention your name as someone who is really always spot on with benefits advice. I acknowledge and respect that, but I do not mean any harm with my comments. I was NOT advising anyone about anything, just relating my own experience - personal to me. There is no need to try to put others down. Not on a supposedly 'friendly' forum. Which, in my experience, is not always so chummy. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
