I wouldn't know what their customer service is like as I haven't had to contact them and their statement/invoices don't appear to be any worse than what I have had from any other supplier.
I do however find their web site and app to be fairly basic.
At one time or another I have been with all the original six suppliers. I haven't had any major problems with any of them Must be lucky I guess.0 -
I am in same situation.GE UK booked a smart meter upgrade end of month also lolEDF maybe only option if they accept new customers but I will not want to go back to Eon Next0

What_time_is_it said:A short while ago I signed up for a fixed tariff with Green Energy UK. At the time the government and both leadership candidates were adamant that they would not freeze the price cap, so I calculated the "least worst" option of signing up for a 1 year fix that would be more expensive than the Summer price cap, but cheaper than the Oct-Dec and Jan-Mar price caps.
If the government now decide to freeze the price cap (a policy that I would totally support by the way, and one that should have been announced MONTHS ago) will I be able to switch supplier?
There are no exit fees with Green Energy, but they do not offer SVT.
Anyone else in the same boat?I am, and its a 3 step process for me.1) Wait for the announcement, including unit price rates.2) If my freeze works out uncomfortably higher, wait to see if GE UK will introduce the SVT.3) If no to 2), then move to a SVT supplier where possible as I have no exit fee to pay.1 -
I would reach out to Octopus via twitter or one of their email addresses to at least start a conversation with them prior to the announcement?
There are varying reports of between 9-10p per kWh for gas and 33-35p per kWh for electricity.
How does that fit with the fixes you all have with Green Energy?0 -
Just to let the fellow GE UK customers know, I rang them just now and the person I spoke to said they would offer the tariff based on the announcement. So hold fire and wait to see if that happens.6

Will not rush into moving just yet. Will see what they do post announcement0 -
On a side note, I have found the customer service at GEUK to be amazing. I have never had such a contactable company in many years. 2-3 rings max and you are talking to someone.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
