Trying to register with Raisin for the 3.5% account in the newsletter but when I enter my postcode to lookup my address get the message "Postal code not found" If I try to enter my address get the message "Please use the Address Lookup function to provide your address details"
Anyone else had this problem or any ideas how to get round it, have emailed Raisin and awaiting reply sometime.

Edit
Now I get an email from Raisin which starts
"
Dear Saver,
You’re just a few simple steps away from opening your first savings account at Raisin
UK. Complete your registration today to benefit from great interest rates"

That's what I was trying to do.

Still struggling on this account; now they want a copy of driving licence or passport neither of which I own.  Rang up and advised to send photocopy of my local council bus pass and see if that is accepted.

It would surprise me if they accepted a bus pass as proof of ID, as this is never mentioned on the list of accepted documents by other banks. But even if they do, what would you do if they, or the actual savings provider, insisted on a passport or DL when you want to withdraw your money?

This topic comes up from time to time - although many institutions initially insist on either a drivers licence or passport as proof of id there are a large minority of people who don't possess either -it's often elderly people in this position who either never had or let passports expire and give up driving for medical reasons.
The institutions should have a list of other documents that they are prepared to accept in their absence - but a bus pass is likely to be the only alternative that has a photo.

A bus pass would also be one of the easiest document to forge.

Note, this is not to say that @chrisbur would forge their bus pass, but forgers would have a field day.

The entire issue wouldn't exist if we had national ID cards. But it's in the main the very people who don't have passports who objected to this idea.

In my conversation with Raisin I was advised of about 4 other acceptable proofs. One was A Blue Badge and a couple others that I did not have and then the last one on the list was A Freedom pass issued by London councils.  I said I had a pass from my council and it was suggested I try this and see what happens.  I will advise outcome.

True - and if everyone could magically be given correct ID cards that could not be forged then the problem would go away. But any introduction of ID cards would pose the same issue as already being experienced but on a massive scale - namely, how does anyone who doesn't already possess a passport and driving licence prove who they are for the purposes of getting an ID card issued to them ?
