out of curiosity which country are you thinking of emigrating to?xzibit said:Yes. Currently in discussions to head back home overseas. The UK is not sustainable anymore with the rising costs of everything. Whilst many countries around the world are being impacted by this crisis, it appears Europe is suffering more the most of the world. Just got to do the flooring and kitchen and get the house on the market before the crash hits.1 -

Apply for lots of loans, sell everything you have, fake your death and go and live like a king in Albania driving a stolen Ferrari.3

I can't believe people on a money saving site state Estate Agents fees and removal costs as a reason to not downsize 🤣🤣 any half literate person can put their own house up for sale for less than £300. A recent quote by family.for 3 bed house garage and she'd and loft was £1250 moving 60 miles away. You had to pack your own stuff. So that's what £1550.
Say the OP got his asking price of £360k and found somewhere comparable in a different county for £275k
Solicitors selling fees £1500
Solicitors buying fees £2500
Removal £1500
Online Estate Agent £300
Stamp duty £3750
In the bank £75,450 (about 2 years of energy going by the current trend🤣🤣)
in all honesty we had to make a very tough decision back in 2019 to sell the house of our dreams. We were in business and we lost a large 6 figure sum. We struggled on and even rented out our dream house to contain the debt whilst we rented a smaller property. The renter's trashed our dream house and it took 10k to sort it out for selling. The point is if you are struggling don't do what we did, we carried on thinking we could keep everything floating but didn't realise we were slowly sinking. Selling up and starting again was the best thing we could have down, everything clear and we built ourselves back up as quickly as we could turning some properties around.
If for one minute I thought.we would suffer because of the energy crisis and inflation we would get on the downsize and rebuild and renovate train wagon whilst we are fit and healthy. I recommend anyone that has these fears to consider this option.1 -
