NO PCN - 2X DEBT RECOVERY PLUS

First of all let me start by saying I understand that this issue has been raised numerous times. The advice suggests that this usually occurs due to not updating the log book after changing address.

However, in my case I have received 3 PCNs previously of the same nature which have been paid within 14 days to pay the discounted rate. However, I received a debt recovery plus letter for a fourth PCN for a charge of £140. I ignored the Debt Recovery Plus letter and emailed and sent a letter to APCOA. The response to both were the same stating that as its been 28 days since the PCN was issued I will have to contact Debt Recovery Plus. This morning I received a second Debt Recovery Plus letter and am unsure what course of action to take.

If the email and letter I sent is needed let me know so that I can attach it.

Many Thanks.

    Hello and welcome.

It's a debt collectors letter. The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread describes exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

Having paid three PCNs previously, they have you now marked as an easy target.

Why did you pay the other three? Especially three from APCOA?

I had infringed the parking times, as it was a university car park, I stayed longer than I anticipated and so overstayed and hence thought those parking tickets were valid.

APCOA as usual up to no good.  They could still deal with it but prefer to pass the buck to their circus clowns, they being DRP ... WHO WANT A SHARE OF THE ACTION USING FAKERY.

DRP are simply a joke in this industry
Just ignore these powerless fools, don't pay them and do not contact them.
    They will vanish soon.

Who knows if APCOA will take it further ?   They are easily beaten. so come back here if you hear further

NO CONTACTING OR PAYING DRP ..... THEY ARE SIMPLY MONEY SCAMMERS

No-one should be paying an APCOA PCN.  Please read up on this and stop wasting your money!

You can ignore this one completely.

Please don't go contacting or paying the scumbags DRPLUS.  See the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread, they are wasters and are meant to be ignored.

But if you get more new PCNs, just appeal them using the NEWBIES thread template appeal, which is 100% slam dunk GUARANTEED to win v APCOA.  A keeper who doesn't say nor imply who was driving, and only appeals as registered keeper, cannot lose at POPLA stage if you simply add that "APCOA haven't used POFA wording and can't hold the keeper liable."

They never could.  Not even for the £180 quid's worth you already mistakenly paid.

The current cost of living crisis, in particular, is no time to be flushing money down the toilet by paying scams you can easily beat. APCOA are among the biggest pushovers.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Hi, this is the most recent thread I can find with regards to DRP and parking fines. Does the same still stand if I received my PCN from Euro car parks? I haven't mistakenly paid anything I have appealed twice and it failed so now receiving letters from DRP requesting that I pay £170 by 08/09/22.
I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing by ignoring them, I am a little concerned, I don't want this on my credit file.

The NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, is a very informative source regarding debt collectors. You are doing the right thing in ignoring debt collectors.

Interested in how you arrive at your concern that this might affect your 'credit file'?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • I am concerned that this will go to a CCJ and end up on my credit file. Many thanks for your reply

Hi, this is the most recent thread I can find with regards to DRP and parking fines.
As well as following the advice given, you should start your own thread/discussion; it is vey confusing trying to advise two posters on the same thread.
