hazeldreams stop beating yourself up. You are focusing on the things you haven't managed but you are thinking about what you are aiming for, you are aware of your goals. Try picking out one or two small steps you can take - just drinking a glass of water when you wake up, adding an extra portion of veg to your meal.
Doing the wardrobes sounds like a really big job and your instinct was to do some relaxing activities instead - so you were listening to your body and what it needed. Your anticipatory dread about going into the office probably didn't help. Instead of thinking about the whole wardrobe could you just tackle one category or do a handful of clothes and take a good critical look at them (do they fit, do any need repairs - you can sew a button on whilst watching tv so put it by your chair, does the item suit you or fit your lifestyle. Another idea is to turn all the hangers the wrong way round - as you pick items to wear you turn the hangers back round so in a week or two you can see which items you don't wear (unless they're obviously warm/cold weather wear) and which you'd only consider if everything else was in the laundry basket.
It takes time to build a good habit, it takes time for the turtle toolbox to become a habit and we all slip up from time to time. I'm useless at meal planning but I'm trying to get back to batch cooking - on a reduced scale as I can only cope with a couple of things on the stove not 4 or 5. Then I list all the portioned meals I have put in the freezer so I know what I have (when I'm on top of my game it get listed by drawer). You won't pick up everything overnight.
Lets rearrange your list
Gratitude - your family are at the heart of everything you do and they're all thriving. You recognise their achievements and the support they give you but you obviously give your love and support to them
NSDs/ Pausing before purchasing You aced this one. You dealt calmly with an emergency, you had to spend the money to secure your home and you've noted further action to reclaim the cost.
Meditation you noticed the effect that missing one day had on your mood, so it's obviously part of your self-care toolkit
Eating and drinking How was this an epic fail? You didn't mention gobbling a whole carrier bag of crisp and chocolate or the bottle of gin you knocked back. You are aware of what you are eating and what your body needs. Be patient and kind to yourself, celebrate every time you choose a piece of fruit instead of a bar of chocolate, every 'good' choice, small change, each step in the right direction. I'm going to stop now because I seem to be obsessed with chocolate and my body really doesn't need it.

Here’s my update for yesterday.
Finally got an NSD so 1/15!
Watched DS footy match they won which helps the mood for the rest of the day!
Watched footy, did the ironing and got ready for ds 1st day back to school today. Also spent some time researching campsites for this week as probably the last for this year. Will decide on Wednesday depending on weather forecast.
Grateful for: a good amount of rain freshening the air, having nothing we had to do and an easy tea.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2609 -
Yesterday was quiet a quiet day. I got all the necessary things done but not much extra.
It would have been a NSD but the printer ran out of ink. The Boy did things that I didn't understand to try to squeeze out one last drop but to no avail. So a new cartridge has been ordered.
Himself is just about to go get his holiday haircut and collect our medication from the chemist. I need to concentrate the next couple of days on finalising preparations for going away and cleaning the house.
Better get started.
Have a lovely day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Hi as always I have a lot on. Thursday was a day out w ds2, we had a great time and I enjoyed spending some time w him. Sunday was a depressing day of staff development. Saturday was parkrun, a swim w ds1 - he is doing well, and I started to decorate the hallway/stairs - doing it in 2 sections but have to do all wood and all doors as well. This continued Sunday after giving out water at a run club race event. Also cooked dinner last night and showered! And then I went to bed, hallway is half done.
Today is a day off, not ideal as would rather be working, but there is plenty of stuff to do here both a bit of admin and then ... the doors and I might plant a bush as well before I go on a club run tonight.
Are u lost now - don't worry so am I - I am working hard to avoid thinking about work, I will try to keep that to work, and not bring it home - too much.
Happy Monday ... the Stipa Tenuissima seeds I bought at some point have sprouted and I might invest in the Stipa Gigantae seeds I want after seeing the grass in Cambs Botanical Garden. I have started replacing my lawn with plants and mainly tall grasses. But will be doing most of it from seeds.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I also had an epic fail on my list yesterday. Didn't eat at all healthily - because I got fed for free at OH's works do yesterday, so all I ate was burger and ice cream. Didn't plan meals, didn't send any thank you letters. Nearest I got to exercise was 23 seconds on a bucking bronco! And I had loads of fun and didn't spend anything, so NSD 1 for me!
We did, however, manage to clear a broken shower enclosure (bought for a fiver at auction, but exploded on us) and get it to the recycling centre. Loads of glass everywhere! I've made a general decluttering start in the bathroom to get it ready for the engineers tomorrow. Yes, we found another old crack opened up under the window, but we're getting it sorted.
Feeling as positive as I can be????
Keep reading books!

NSD 3/15. Do need to get petrol, remined myself and drove straight past the petrol station, this will be a job for tomorrow and I need to get an anniversary card and sponsor one of my colleagues, tomorrow will be a spend day.
Didn't drink as much water today as I should have will make sure I drink a large glass during the evening. Left overs for lunch and dinner this evening is very simple grilled green house tomatoes and bacon, we have had an amazing crop of tomatoes this year and they are so much tastier than shop bought I think.
21/100 miles done on the exercise bike hoping to get to 30miles by tomorrow evening.
Not much done on the de-cluttering front today as I left early this morning, tomorrow I am working from home so will be able to get a few things done, before I start work.

I have been through my winter stuff today & have ordered a couple of new thermal tops.Nice to see you beanie. Hope the thermal tops keep you nice and warm in the colder weather. Hopefully it wont be snowy in Scotland. We don't often get snow just every few years when it comes it's a bit of a shock.Hope Miss Summer is doing well. I miss having a cat, they're like little hot water bottles when they snuggle in laps in cold weather.pollyx

Monday 5th September 2022
Apologies - started early, then got drowsy and slept for several hours this afternoon. Probably another bug as my temperature keeps shooting up.

Today
We are a part of the canal I'm not familiar with (might have visited one or two bits adjacent to the road but that was 45 years ago). We'll be passing through the six smaller flashes but not sure about the bit after that (I got my street map out yesterday but it's gone into hiding again.
Monday Mindfulness
One of the earliest exercises we did was one which I'm sure is familiar to many of you (it's come up in other things I've done in the past). You need a raisin (sultanas and other fruit can be used - oranges are popular).
First of all you look at the fruit (before picking it up). Then you pick it up and look at it more closely, examining all the ridges. Hold it up to the light, does the light highlight some features, does it shine through in places. Bring it up to your nose and sniff it (this brought back memories for me of all the wedding cakes I helped mum make, starting when I was 3 yo), How does the raisin feel , hold it between your fingers (I found I enjoyed playing with it rolling it in and out of my fingers). Put the raisin on your tongue but don't chew it. Let it rest on your tongue for a while then move it around your mouth, hold it against the roof of your mouth. Feel it melting against your tongue. Last of all savour it. eating it as slowly as you can.
I'm sure we've all eaten raisins before, probably grabbing a pinch from the pack and throwing them in our mouth, one quick chew and they're gone. This exercise teaches us to slow down, notice more about something commonplace. We frequently eat without really noticing our food, eating on the hoof in our busy lives or the mum special - eating standing up whilst cleaning up the kitchen (and then finishing off anything the kids have left on their plates). Eating slowly and without distractions is often suggested as an aid to eating healthily (we don't 'diet'), really notice your food and be more aware of when you have had enough and are pleasantly full but not stuffed.
