Yes, they will want confirmation over the 2 year span. I'm not sure if it has to be the same property but basically that you've both lived in the same place at the same time.  The more evidence you have the better and there is no leniency and remember they don't owe you anything. It's up to you to prove to them that you are genuine.

There's not really a way to contact them once your application goes in (we tried and had to ask my MP in the end). They won't ask for more information, if they think it's insufficient they will deny it.

Why not try somewhere like Andorra. Think it's pretty good tax wise.

If a company sponsored her on a work visa, could the time living together while she is on the work visa then be used to apply for an unmarried partner visa in 2 years time?
