Or tell him that the boiler will be turned off 5 minutes after I hear the water running, so it'll be a cold shower after that, like you said you were fine with!
In the first post it was said that this is an electric shower...
It may be located over the bath, but turning off the boiler isn't going to help...
Of all the costs listed, the shower and the XBox are probably the ones that will be hardest to limit and the most impactful on cost...
Thanks everyone, has given me a lot of starting points for conversations, and a few ideas to put to him little by little, am definitely going to invest in one of those plugs to put in his room so he can see what he is personally using each day (will get that before he moves back). I think it will be small targets over a period of months but hopefully we'll get there in the end.
