It's obviously frustrating to experience all this, but continuing to post a running commentary on a web forum is unlikely to move things any further forward, and you'd be better discussing such feelings with real life family and friends, especially if someone can offer short term financial assistance while you get this sorted out.

As highlighted earlier, you need to focus on getting the CIFAS marker removed if it shouldn't be there, have you got anywhere with HSBC yet?

  • Advise you don’t apply to other banks either, until the CIFAS marker is sorted (if it can be, they might not remove it)

What account are they not finding? As they appear to have found your credit card account

If it's a different account: when did you last use it? How much money is in it (none / some / a lot)?
    Oh @Daliah

Magic, how dus one link another thread to text as you did above with "they appear to have" ?. Thanks

OP I'm so sorry that you don't have any family to help with your trials and tribulations, maybe friends. Can  you not sue the banks for all the grief they keep causing you. It seems so unfair.

    Good luck.

If you have no family or friends to help you with this, find your local Citizens Advice and ask them to help you get an answer from HSBC regarding the removal of your CIFAS marker.
