I've skipped August due to being away for most of it but I'd like to join again for September please.
I'll go for £200 for 2 adults and a child.
I'm on a mission to get to the bottom of the freezer over the next few months to defrost it and actually use all the stuff I've stashed away. I'm fairly sure there's things at the bottom that have been in there about 2 years so it's definitely time to use them up!

@tessie_bear - I make my own preserves 😉
I make flavoured gins/vodkas/whisky during the year with a variety of different fruits etc so after they are completed I use the mixture of fruit in jam (the whisky is normally ginger whisky so that ends up being used for ginger jam or in chutneys) my theory is that I get two uses out of it this way!
I forage the damsons & brambles, have friends who supply plums, apples and other types of fruit and tend to buy ys raspberries/strawberries etc when they are plentiful during the summer to keep the costs to a minimum. I also make my own chutneys; flavoured balsamics; mint, basil, rosemary, cranberry, redcurrant and apple sauces/jellies; along with elderberry/elderflower cordials from my homegrown produce. My plan is to start making my own ketchups next year - I used to make them but have been sidelined this year for a variety of reasons!
There are normally enough condiments in my house to sink a battleship!! 😂😂😂DNF: £708.92/£1000

May I join please. It's difficult to put forward a figure because of how we pay. My OH drinks quite a lot and due to difficulty walking this year I add his booze to my MrS delivery every week. In exchange he gives me £100 per week to pay off the bill. He is aware that the bill is very rarely as much as this so some of the groceries are also covered. I shop for meat, veg, fruit and top ups that are paid for from my purse. I would estimate that food, cleaning and toiletries are about £200 - £250 per month but I will have to keep a note this coming month by subtracting the booze and adding the rest of the MrS stuff to what I pay cash for. Sorry for the ramble. All that clutter used to be money7

Hello can I have a budget of £250, @elsiepac , thats for two of us and 4 dogs of which one is under a year old. Hoping I don’t need to use it all but thought better budget the upper end. This doesn’t include vet bills/medication for the old two boys. x x6

£85 per week
Hello, I need to come back! Our budget is for 2 adults, 1 child, 3 dogs and sometimes an OAP. Our budget covers all 3 meals and snacks, all cleaning products, toiletries, dog food etc. We also have allergies and neurodivergencies and ARFID in our household.
I need to try and reduce it as much as possible but we had been spending £100 so we're getting there slowly. Our month will run 25th August - 22nd September.
We have a Lidl opening here on 1st September which I'm excited about. Our local A$da's has stopped doing yellow stickers so I need to really put some thought and prep into things now! Have been using the glut of home grown tomatoes to make soup for Hubby, 2 go in the fridge for the weeks lunches and 2 go in the freezer for winter. The tomatoes keep on giving!
Everything is always better after a cup of tea8 -
I really want to manage my shopping,
I really need to control it and struggle so much that it often spirals out of control by the end of the month.
I have spread sheets and manage my money well but I can’t seem to get a handle on this part of it as it can save us some good money.
Im not sure the best way to do this - I’ll aim for £400 for the month is September, any tips for making this work would be appreciated. I’m going to go back and read Aug GC for some inspiration.Living the simple life8 -

Could you please put me with a budget of £500 for September 2022? Thank you!
Hi a newbie here, family of 5 - 2 adults, 3 children (8,7 and 5) so have to provide lunch for 4 (Husband works from home) as daughter gets lunch provided at school.
I am pretty sure we spend way more than 500 esp as my husband will also pop to shops and buy food at the weekend for treats but as with everyone I am getting worried about all rising prices and need to rein it in so we can afford everything. Ive been following the board for a couple of months but July and August send spending way over due to school holidays so going to start a fresh in September and hope we stick to budget and possibly reduce as year goes by.
Children will eat most things apart from spicy foods - curries and chilli's. Looking forward to a new challenge as September feels like a new year to me now with 3 children in school

I'd like to rejoin please, time to get back on track and keep a proper record of what we're spending before things get tougher!
Could you please put me down for a budget of £300 for September 2022 running 29/08 to 02/10.
That's for two adults and a 9 year old boy (ever growing and constantly eating at the moment!) plus 2 cats and 3 chickens and any household stuff needed. The chickens will need feed this month, the cats have plenty in but if any good wet food offers found I will be topping up on that. We're running low on washing powder and a few other things this month, but we're also well stocked on meat and home grown veg at the moment so should balance out.7 -
Another £15 yesterday- dh decided that he wanted to buy more stuff for his lunches and we've had my grandbaby for a couple of days so needed to get more strawberries and grapes- I've got the card back from dh now so hopefully we'll not spend again before the weekend 🤦♀️ £61/£300DNF: £708.92/£1000
