Quick update, unsurprisingly no response from JD yet, following accountants forwarding on our letter to them. Will wait the full 30 days though.

BPA have not provided contact details for JD. They say we can contact the details on the PCN (yet none was received) or speak to Parking CSL or Debt Recovery and they are closing my enquiry. I simply asked for JD Parking's correct contact details as those provided on BPA website are incorrect.

Does anyone have a sensible contact at BPA who may be able to help us get the correct contact details for one of their members, not an alternative company?

A bit of an update on this. BPA's latest response to us, after chasing them again is:

"The Operator has confirmed they instruct another company to handle the correspondence related to parking charge notices on their behalf. Therefore, on the notices it will provide you with the relevant contact details to pay the charge and appeal it.

JD Parking are aware there is a problem with their website and are working with their technical team to resolve it. The website link is correct and therefore as soon as it is fixed, the link should work correctly. [This is different to their original response]

I note you wish to contact JD directly but they specifically employ another company to handle communications on their behalf so you would need to contact the company details on the notice you have received. This would not be a breach of our Code of Practice.

If you require a copy of any notices that you have not received, you would need to contact the debt recovery company they have instructed to handle their correspondence."

"I can confirm Debt Recovery Plus will be handling all of their correspondence on their behalf."

So we still have no contact details for J D Parking and have been instructed by BPA to deal with Debt Recovery (although they did offer to forward correspondence to them for us).

Additionally we have now received a partial response to the letter we sent to JD's DPO, via their accountants last month. This response has come from a 'Compliance Assistant' at Debt Recovery Plus (a quick Google indicates that she is indeed a real person, unlike the other individuals on the 'legal threat' DRP letters).

We included requests for rectification, to be informed, privacy notice, subject access, landowner and POPLA. What we have been sent appears to highlight a number of areas of concern. Upon speaking with the ICO they advised that we submit a complaint.

So I guess we now need to decide our next course of action.

    1. Report to both ICO and BPA for the breaches and issues we feel we have evidence of.
    2. Report to ICO 1st and then BPA upon ICO findings.
    3. Or ride it out and see if they take us to court (saving all the evidence until such a time as it needed). However 6 years is a long wait and really I do feel quite strongly about trying to hold these 'criminals' to account for their actions now.

    Any thoughts please?

Thank you, appreciate the reply. Sadly I suspected that was the case.
I just think that while ever they continue to flout the laws and rules, they will always get away with it, unless folks report them.

We agree, but the most important chance to voice your anger will be in the upcoming Public Consultation.

We sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Govt Public Consultation?  Hopefully - amongst all the political disruption - it will be open later this year.

We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and the toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA 'gaslighting' of people.

If PPCs manage to turn around the decision on banning the gaslighting / claim-funding 'fees' then the DLUHC will be rubber-stamping £200 parking charges and if that happens, they (Government) and the PPCs will wreck high streets and people's lives.  Whoever is responsible, if that happens (and it very nearly did in 2021) must hang their heads in shame.

Just checking you are among those ready to respond to the questions as you have personal experience of how this crap feels?

Please come back here when it opens, and you can make sure you don't miss the Consultation:

The BPA go from rubbish to deep into the sewers. Who writes this utter crap for the BPA

DRP ...... the favourite money scammer member for the BPA
WHAT COMPLETE IDIOTS AT THE BPA even thinking that DRP HAS ANY IMPORTANCE IN LIFE ON EARTH ?

All DRP are capable of is sending untreated sewage letters which mean ZERO

This proves beyond doubt that the BPA APPROVE SCAMMERS and the BPA are not fit for purpose and when government gave them ATA status they never knew this would all end up as a mega scam.  All DRP are... are leeches preying on the public

Whatever fool on behalf of the BPA wrote the letter is living in cloud cuckoo land.

The BPA letter is a feeble attempt to your GDPR RIGHTS

Any government minister under Rishi and levelling up, would be very foolish to ignore the BPA scam

And remember, in the house of commons, it was Rishi who approved Sir Greg Knights bill and code of practice to cull private parking companies.

The space is still open for Rishi to prove integrity and honesty

In our case a photo was taken of a reg plate. No confirmation of the period of parking, no consideration period allowed. No window ticket issued and less than 9 minutes after a time stamped photo of the reg plate, our case was already on the Debt recovery system for DVLA details. No PCN ever submitted, correct address notifications ignored and straight to £170 please or Mr Hunt will take you to court threats! Multiple breaches of GDPR and BPA Code.
