What a web of a mess this is.

Seems Parking Collection Services website www.parkingcsl.co.uk quote their company number as 6978341. However that company is Detroit I 2018 Limited, previously Parking Collection Services (2009) and dissolved in Feb 19.

Parking Collection Services (nor Detroit I) appear to be registered with ICO, tho DRP (co no 06774150) are.

So the (contract) details on both the sign and the website are for a company that technically doesn’t exist (and DRP are now using dissolved company PCS as a trading style).

For now will simply post SAR to JD and ask they erase old details and see if they’ll provide a POPLA code.

Thanks all, much appreciated and fingers crossed!
  • Hi again! Just providing an update on this for those who kindly gave advice.

We submitted a SAR along with amend/erase data request to the DPO at the ICO registered address provided by JD. After a month it has just been returned from Royal Mail as "addressee gone away".

We've then sent an enquiry via the BPA portal to ask for contact details for JD Parking Consultants, as the website they provide is not live and ICO address incorrect,  so we've no way to contact them (only DRP / PCS).

We have however just contacted the accountants for JD, as it appears it was their address used for the ICO and Companies House. They have confirmed that they moved over 3 years ago (incorrect address for ICO registration was given in 2022) and kindly agreed to also forward our letter to JD (pdf sent by email and receipt requested). So we await once again, with our fingers crossed.

In meantime Andrew Hunt, Legal Manager of Debt Recovery Plus has sent more letters to old address, with big red title bar "Terminal Notice - Pre Legal Action" warning "days until legal action commence: IMMINENT". We assume they can be ignored for now, but filed for safe keeping.

In the meantime a bit of research and it turns out the Director for JD Parking Consultants Limited has been convicted of offences under the Private Security Industry Act. SIA notice here.

Thanks again to those providing advice and support.
  • @Smee... - are you saying that the PPC's website doesn't have any contact details on it at all?

If they don't have any listed anywhere on their website, then that's a breach of the Companies Act (2006), which requires businesses to list postal address, phone number, fax number (optional) and email address in one of: company info, contact info or terms & conditions pages.

The website BPA have for JD Parking http://www.jdparking.co.uk does not work. The current postal address registered with ICO in 2022 is their accountants old address from over 3 years ago. We haven't had anything from JD at all, only letters from DR+

Andrew Hunt, Legal Manager of Debt Recovery Plus
...doesn't exist. At least the photo is unlikely to be a real person at DRP.  It's a stock photo of a man with some blurred background behind him, like in Catfish. Discussed umpteen times:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6313355/drp-is-this-the-pre-legal-paperwork/p1

There's a LinkedIn profile of an Andrew Hunt that says he is a director, but Companies House says he isn't:

No need to ask us about DRPlus letters.  This is more than covered in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread and nothing ever changes.

That link is to a generic page I think?

  • Thanks @Coupon-mad yes I had spotted that. And apologies, I didn't mean to suggest I was asking for advice on DR+, was more just posting for information, to highlight their tactics, especially if anyone else was in a similar situ and does a search. Definitely don't want to waste any 'advice brownie points', in case we need them later!!  ;)

Did you try the "registered office" address shown on their last set of accounts filed in February 2022, which was: -
    The Old Canteen
    Sunnybank Mills
    Town Street
    Farsley
    West Yorkshire

    That's kind, many thanks @Castle
At the time we just wrote to the DPO at the current address registered with ICO, assuming that would be the most up to date. Now we have confirmation that's incorrect we'll try other addresses (as you suggest via those on filed accounts and the accountants, etc). I suspect the ICO will also need to request a new address for their registration now too ;)
