Hopefully you've now shown her the cancellation and asked her if she's now happy you didn't pay out £100 of your holiday spending money? ;)

  • "[the] bay and the other side is surrounded by low hawthorn hedges so it was difficult to park properly without scratching our car."

What I do not understand, is why it is assumed that a parking bay that has an obstruction (hawthorn hedge) is assumed to still be a parking bay?

To my mind, the parking management company is derelict of their duty (at minimum), and that bay should not be deemed a car parking space.

At worst, the only reason to grow the most scratchy (threat to car and person) bush - and then not keep it trimmed - is to deliberately construct a trap. They will be catching motorists on a daily basis with this trap, since cars are unable to park in that bay without parking over the line.

IMHO, the fact that a car-parking bay with an obstruction is still deemed a parking-bay - therefore a (non-parking-bay) argument cannot be used as a Defence - seems to me to be a green-light for parking companies to set-up traps like this one.

I'm delighted this PCN was cancelled. Well done!
