How long for Solicitor to receive mortgage offer?
Comments

@user1977 Now Friday and solicitor still has nothing...
Why do solicitors need to have hard copies in the post? Surely in this day and age it gets emailed instantly or they pull it off the portal? With any hard copies being printed when required?

We had a Nationwide offer the other week - our solicitor saw the details before we did and was able to download the details on the day. We had to wait for our copy to come in the post!1

@Sophie4120 Did you ask Nationwide not to send email copies? And was the offer available on the online mortgage tracker if you went direct?0
-
My lender posted the offer to my solicitor - then I had to have it posted to me to sign it. Some lenders are stuck in the past - mine had me print out PDFs of my payslips and post them as "originals".
You are also expecting the buyers solicitor to have notified yours instantly that they got it, when in reality they will probably sit on it for a few days.
Do not panic - the buyer is not likely to be lying to you and you will hear in due course.0 -
Hi @Snookie12cat What Lender was that?0

@Snookie12cat This is with Nationwide and they do have an online portal and they do email copies as far as I'm aware which is why I'm concerned.0

How long did it take after you received confirmation that your mortgage had been approved for your solicitor to receive a copy of the mortgage offer?
We were notified our buyers mortgage was approved a couple of days ago but still waiting for the solicitor to receive a copy.
The solicitors are on the panel for this lender and the lender uses the lenders exchange so it should be a straight forward download.
This is the first stage of house buying/selling and it gets a hell of a lot more frustrating and stressful from here. Try to calm down and not overthink things, it will save your sanity.
If the buyer is communicating as expected then you almost certainly have nothing to worry about.0 -
@housebuyer143 We aren't at the start this is 4 months down the line having waited 9 weeks for the buyers mortgage offer. All enquiries are complete and we're ready to exchange0
