Ok Just a quick question, you know yorkshire pudding trays that make about 4 large/medium yorkshire puddings. Would they be ok to make smallish chocolate slabs? as I was wanting to make some round slabs and get BB to decorate them like xmas baubles and then wrap them and use them as a tag on my hampers. What do ya think?

I read this thread when it first started, but never got round to trying anything myself. Now I'm reading to have a go and I am after a bit of advice from all you chocolate experts on this thread!

It's my dads birthday in a couple weeks so I thought I could make some chocolates for him.

I have borrowed some car moulds from work:

    mouldspy2.jpg

The moulds are made from plastic and actually meant for soap making. They're not flexible.

How do I stop the chocolate sticking to the mould and ensure I can get them out of the moulds? Could I grease them a little? If so what with?

If this works it's going to be so exciting as we have hundreds of styles of mould I can choose from, including loads of Christmas designs!! I'll have so much fun making choccies for everyone at Christmas. :j

    Thanks :T

I had silicone moulds which popped out quite easy but I did rub round the moulds quickly with the tip of a cotton bud.

Hi guys im new to this thread & i hope you won't mind me asking a question.... sorry if it's be asked before but this thread is so long.

A couple of years ago i 'tried' :rotfl: making easter eggs. I got loads of molds etc.
The thing was, when you held the chocolate after it had set it would start to melt in your hands. It would melt a lot quicker than if you had say some cadburys chocolate buttons in your hands.

I would love to attempt making a chocolate slab but wondering how i make it so it wouldn't start melting as soon as someone held it?

    I hope i've explained this properly :o

    Thanks

I'm going to have a go so I'll see how it turns out.
