Hi Guys
thanks for all the inspiration!
I have been to poundland and bought myself a butterfly mould-what a bargain!!!
Now just wondering what to wrap them in-I am trying to do this all as cheaply as possible and don't really want to pay for 25 cello bags on ebay if I can help it-any bright ideas guys?

Have anyone ever saved the inside of an Advent calander and used that as a mould??
Im thinking of using my cadburys one next year then making people little gifts of chocolate crackers, robins, puddings etc - will have to remember to keep the inside though
but just thought Id leave that idea with you all incase anyone else feels like doing it next year for presents to go in a mug or somethingLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

poppyolivia, it's ok, sometimes the thanks take a little while
would it help if you piped icing on the faces?? would that disguise them a bit
The kids have got rid of the last one pretty quick!:rotfl: But yeah thanks for the tip I could ice some design on them if it happens again!!:beer:You may walk and you may run

Give it a go.......let the choc cool a little so you don't melt advent mould!!!!
My ds will not rest with advent chocs around ....he is constantly sulking as he is not allowed any more then one.....am expecting corner style behavious shortly0 -
Grr, first choc slab no problems, second I have "Blooming". No idea what I did differently, must have put it in the fridge too soon! Oo well, time to re-melt again...Remember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Joss Whedon0

hi i have been makin choc slabs and shapes instead of giving selection boxes this year. i used asda smart price milk choc, milky way magic stars, mini smarties, white choc buttons and sprinkles. i have added a couple pics for you to see. i have written the persons name on th bottom of the loaf tim in white choc (backwards so it turns out the right way round) then when that had set poured on melted milk choc and as that was setting i sprinkled on maltesers, magic stars, smarties etc wrapped them in tissue and cello. its pretty tricky to get the choc writing and the teddy faces neat as the choc is so runny you have to be really quick but it's the thought that counts right?
so far i've not had any blooming i melted the choc till it was almost done and let the heat of the bowl melt the rest then shoved in some more choc which i let melt with the heat of the rest and then lifted out the lumps when i thought it wouldn't melt any further (hope that makes sense)0 -
